Default Profile Page Photo change??

Yep I cleared my cache, wipped out my cookies and turned off my AV-Firewall,signed out and logged back in a while later and still no luck. (Repeated several times and waited as instructed by the confirm window)

EDIT= Since the 28th when I posted this I still have not been able to upload a new Profile Pic, I refreshed using the shift key etc. many times and even removed my old pic yesterday (automatically replaced with stock RCUimageBlank) and tried again today.
Only my old profile pic showed up again instead of the new one I uploaded??

I wanted to change my Profile pic from my 'logo' to my new one with my mugshot/logo
I have tried since Wed /2/28 during morning off and on.

I'm probably overlooking something??

Thank's

Worn....

I am having the same problem...I get the message, "image upload complete" but the old image remains regardless of time or pressing Shift/refresh....I tried deleting the current image which worked, then tried uploading a differant image but the old image returned...anyone else?

Yep thats what its doing to me too,
I went into the multi-places to set forum pref's and Un-Checked "use Avatar as Profile photo" although my old P_photo was not my avatar?? and it still wont work.

Also resized down to 75 x 67 at 62dpi and still nada.

They will get time to check or it could be a system-make-over situation?

Thank's though

Awesome car"

Exactly what did I do wrong?
should I have used the car for a Profile Pic? its 668x500 pixels so I dont think size was an issue?

Thank's for the help though'[8D]

Michael

Nope' I'm into Planes

Forum Profile picture eg= if you click on [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/profile.cfm?section=profile&forum=1&memid=11513]WORNBOOTS[/link]
on the Upper L-H Info box it has Change Photo" and the actual photo is to the right (poor quality sorry)

I tried to change it following the Pop-Window Instructions and at first (since the 28 Feb) and it would not show the new pic, it uploaded fine and confirmed but would not Refresh>

Yesterday it took the New Pic so I thought Ya'll had fixed it or somthing, Then when I realized it was a crappy pic (resized and low res) I tried to change it again and it did the same= It would not post the new uploaded pic again?

I'll tray again now to see if its a "overnight-wait and it works thing"

I thought Marc was messing around and I could not understand the Car-pic as a reply??

Your photo has been uploaded!

It may take up to 10 minutes for the new image to appear. Try holding down the "SHIFT" key while refreshing the page to see your new photo.

Close
This is what I get after uploading,

The pic thats there now is the one I tried to remove yesterday and I replaced with another that still has not showed up?

Just Now' I tried to replace photo again with (My Son and his Talon) it confirmed and should be in Que somewhere??
will wait and check again later.

Thank's
Dan

Mornin Marc'

I'm on Win98SE IE6 sp1 dial-up and Avast FW

If you click my WORNBOOTS and open, the pic You see should be a bad one of Me.

Yesterday it allowed me to upload that pic and when Refreshed 'it Appeared'
(Same System I'm on now) So I thought you had fixed it.

Now it seems hung-up again (since yesterday after loading that pic, it wont change again)

Its not a big deal, its a nice feature to have though.

this has got to be a win 98 issue. old operating system. I have seen other 98 and millenium users have these image upload quirks.

you can now leap over XP and upgrade to windows Vista

I'm on WinXPpro now and just tried to upload again, Message Box said succesful'

will check tonight, thanks

3/7 802pm Edit= At time of edit, I'm using Firefox that I just installed.
Did not import any bookmarks or cookies started with a clean cache, typed in the RCU URL and logged into RCU and still the old pic?

jwfly above seems to have the same thing happening to him, could it be because we aren't using Vista?

3/8 718am Edit= last night I removed pic and it was immediately replaced with RCU Stock blank photo. then logged out and cleared cookies etc
This morning I triedup loading another 'New Pic' and the old one re-appeared again'

I do appreciate the help guys, but I'm just gonna going to leave it alone.

Thank's

are you uploading this to the profile area of the main site or on the settings page of the forum (avatar change) area? try giving the file a different name and upload

There are two things here so we are clear

1) Main profile (reached when you click the mymodels icon under your post or go to username.rcuniverse.com page)

2) Forum avatar. changed and set by going to Settings page, uploading avatar, once uploaded you submit the entire settings page

Marc

Click on your (or ours) Username, anywhere its a link.
((like in your above post to the left above the word Administrator))

The page it takes you to is the Forum(sub Profile) Page with this pic (yours)

We are having trouble changing that picture, and it does seem to work only on a hit-n-miss situation.

Have you tried to change your pic? and then change it again to somthing else? this seems to be the problem.

I have left the new pic sit in que' (after confirmed upload) for more than 24hrs with no result.

Also' I Left the Stock Blank Photo -->

for 24 + hrs and then tried to upload the new one , only to have the Old pic return again.

It worked once and that was it"????

To answer your question directly

1) Main profile (reached when you click the mymodels icon under your post or go to username.rcuniverse.com page)
The 'My Models' page, the 'Main Profile' page and the 'Forum Sub-Profile' page along with the Tabs (Profile-My Models-Blogs-Ratings-Gallery) Yes these are the areas the Profile Pic appears. Aswell as just clicking on the 'Username'

Going to USERNAME.RCUniverse, com Is not the same and comes up with a generic RCU page?

2) Forum avatar. changed and set by going to Settings page, uploading avatar, once uploaded you submit the entire settings page
I think we are both clear its not the Avatar we are talking about, allthough there is a Clickable Box for using "Avatar as Profile Pic" which I have De-Selected and still no Go"

Edit= At this time of Edit, I went back and tried to upload a different Pic and it Worked'
but its been since 3/08/07 or apx. 6 days since last attempted change.
Using win98SE IE6 sp1 etc. as normal

PS; Has anyone tried typing (USERNAME).rcuniverse.com ??? what did you get

Also I noticed the Post Times showing on the "Forum Sub-Profile Page" are an hour advanced from the Forums 'Test Posting' page.

Who ever is responsible for fixing some of the issues' Thank's

JwFly, thanks for helping and you do have some great looking Aircraft'

Fixed ?? when you type a members {(username).rcuniverse.com} it actually pulls up thier Profile Page[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

FYI' It makes a differance if the WWW. is typed??
**typing-->>> jwfly.rcuniverse.com pulls up Dossier
**adding the WWW just goes to the generic Front page?? (My results)

I'm not changing my profile pic for a while, so I don't know if it is working better? will let the others decide.

I think the image thing is due to a caching of our images here...I told michael for that feature to maybe pull it direct off here since the image name is the same and that is why it caches.

on the time thing...I'll look into that.

and yes.....www.rcuniverse.com is regular page and doing username.rcuniverse.com will bring up your profile page (where username is your rcu username)
