Yes, why not? Few of large R/C aircraft manufacturers and dealers are advertising with gorgeous women and it’s not a problem, what about other sports NASCAR, Import races etc. they should stop advertising products with models? Whoever has a problem with it should look as close as TV commercials during prime time which are very revealing but not necessarily tasteless.

The hobby is mostly guys so of course those adds are going to be prevalent. It's capitalism and it sells product, the only time I would complain is if there is some open / overt sexual connotation. I remember I pulled an add once because it had a phallic shaped airplane part pointed at her in a way that could be construed sexually (Sigmund Freud would be proud). I've also pulled adds when they used children or were put out by people who were known to use children in somewhat seductive poses, probably not enough to be illegal but still in bad taste.

Hi
I think , It,s a matter of the expression on the models ( the female ) face . Provocative , should be left OUT . A well kept woman , is always pleasant to be seen .

I went to the site, but didn't see any women. All I saw was canopy rails and two videos of them operating. Did this guy start this thread just to 'bait' people into going to his website? I think so.
I vote YES ... pretty women need to be in an ad. Forget what the ad is for! Who cares! It's nice to see pretty women. Besides, better a pretty woman than an ugly woman.

And seriously. Do any of us really think that women, especially pretty women, actually have an interest in this hobby? NOT !!
I bet those 'models' consider photo ops with R/C planes, the bottom of the barrel of their modeling career.

BTW, the picture he had up was not of Model holding or posing near what he's selling, just a nice looking girl standing in profile, aaaaaah, displaying the undulation of her leading edge.
This is a very common ebay and youtube hit generating trick

Sex sells. On the bay auction site, I posted my first photo of a busty babe in a tiny bikini, then three of the actual item. I had thousands of views beyond what RC items ever get. My item sold for more than anything similar that week. There is your answer. Want success? Put on the sexy babe photos and give the buyer a little something extra for his money. It's practically a reflex reaction anyway, see a pretty woman, and suddenly the wallet is open.
Women aren't cheap, pun intended. I think it's great to be in the year 2010 and we can still demoralize women like it's back in the 50s! I can't find another reason what they're good for, pretty ones anyway.

Exactly, basically the art of creating an illusion equating the purchase of the item with the desirable woman. That the buyer is buying not only the item but the woman, or that the purchase of the item will attract similar women to the buyer, or creating any number of similar illusions in the buyer's mind. Many of these advertisements work on several levels, most popular is the subconscious levels and the eye-catching levels, both of which can be quite effective in hobbies where most hobbyists are male.

Sex sells, period. If it promotes sales, what's the harm?
I saw the ad, it was pretty tame in this day and age of 'wardrobe malfunctions'. Nice, skinny babe in a bikini. (Get that poor girl a cheeseburger!) The photo was quite small, even at twice the size it was not offensive.
Ever looked at some of the ads in women's mags? Guys - and gals - barely clothed, and hints of curly stuff showin. TV ads are more offensive than the ad cited IMO.
Smacks of uber-PC. What's the deal, RCU moderators? Where exactly do you draw the line? This is a free country, so be a good example of free speech.

At least it's not 600 pages of sexy girl pics, wasting hours of your time.
Some women would say the whole hobby is a waste of time, but we know entertainment when we see it!
