FPV beginner

Hello....Just beginning the FPV journey. I have a small bit of knowledge with rc planes and helis. Got my hands on Fat Shark parts and a Bixler 1.1, but need some help.
My goal is to fly up and down the coast where I live with maybe a range of a mile or two. First off, I don't think this DX6I is going to cut it nor is my orange RX receiver. I am also missing a TX, maybe someone can suggest a good TX......Here are a couple of pictures of the gear I have. I am a little confused as to what to expect out of these cloverleaf antennas...Is a ground station necessary? ...diversity receivers?.....Also, is a GPS, RTH unit necessary such as the Turnigy T1000. The more I read, the more confused I get......Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!....Thank you

Dont fly fatrter away than you want to walk to pick up the pieces.... You wont get reliably more than a half mile with what you have. Which is in reality as far as you really should be going anyway...

Thanks for the suggestions.

If your are flying FPV you need to still have visual contact with the aircraft. If you are using goggles then you need a spotter. The FAA regulations require us to "see and avoid" any full scale aircraft at all times. Full scale aircraft have the right of way at all times. To be able to see your aircraft 1/2 mile away it would have to be very large. I start having have trouble orienting my Giant planes (+100" wingspan) if it get that far out.
