Default My basic/general questions about OSD

Hi.

I'm a newcomer in the world of UAVs and it's my first thread on DIY drones forum.

I was a modeler and my hobby was R/C planes but now I want to learn more about UAVs.

For UAV, I need to use on screen display (OSD) but unfortunately I have no valuable information about OSDs and I did not work with OSD/Auto Pilot/GPS and ...

May I ask you to give me some short descriptions about these things:

I can't distinguish witch one is OSD, with one is stabilizer and ... .

Thanks ...

Arad Eshvanove ...

Default RE: My basic/general questions about OSD

well, I don't know for certain, but the top left looks like a osd controler for programming it, the top right is probably the osd itself, the bottom left I think is a sensor that finds the horizon, and the bottom right is a flight stabilization system/return to home module and posibly an autopilot.

But don't take my word for it.

Thank you for your reply.
When I want to choose OSD, for example seller says "We suggest you an OSD with this information: 100A 10Hz ..."
How can I know that it is useful for my drone with its range and endurance or not.
You know ... they just say xAmpere yHertz and etc but they say nothing about its range. How can I know that this OSD can support my uav in longer distances.

Well... Your On Screen Display does not affect the range. Your Video Transmitter, Video reciever, frequency, and the annetennas you use affect the range. The OSD only ovelays a telemetry display on your video image
