Default Bigger antanna

Is it possible to stick an 11 Dbi 2.4Ghz antanna on my radio to get greater distance? I see this done on fpv 2.4ghz transmitters to go farther and was wondering if it will work the same?

Yes, it is possible. However, you will lose radiation in all directions (omnidirectional) in favor of more gain in one direction. Also, it may or may not be legal to transmit at 2.4MHz with that much antenna gain. Just food for thought...
