Programming for a twin engine with the 8FG
Hi,
I've put together a twin and have the radio (8FG) programmed to operate each engine on separate channels. I used one of the PMIX's with AUX5 (channel 7) slaved to Throttle with trim on. Now I want to be able to tweak each engine using the front knobs (LD, RD). I was able to slave the engine on AUX5 to RD but could only achieve partial throw. I want to be able to operate both engines from the knobs and the throttle stick. I did this years ago with a Hobbico Twinstar using a 8U but, I can't remember how I managed that. Any assistance will be appreciated.

I am not 100% sure if this is what you are trying to acheive, but I have found that the easiest way to do this is with just one Pmix, which you already have; Throttle as Master and channel 7 as Slave. I left "Trim" off. And went into the function menu. There I set the Trim for Throttle to the LD, and then set the trim for Channel 7 to the RD.

Krysta,
Thanks for the response. I'll give it a try. I think you have part of it. Though I still want to be able to trim both engines using the trim throttle trim tab. Let me give it a shot.

One way to do this would be to use the function, "AUX1", or any other Aux function. Set it to an open channel. Now, set a mix with Throttle as Master and the Aux channel as slave. Link ON, trim ON, and rates to 100%. This makes the Aux channel work with the throttle stick and the throttle trim will affect it.
You can then use another mix with "H/W" as master and Throttle as slave, and set the "H/W" to LD as the control. Set the rates to 100%. Do the same with a third mix with 'H/W" as master and the AUX channel as slave. The control will be RD.
Now, you can have both engine channels operating via the throttle stick with the throttle trim controlling both channels, but having each throttle channel being able to be adjusted via the knobs. You could also set the sliders to act as the extra control instead of the knobs.
