The SBC-1 Channel-Setting Tool only allows you to set the channel used by an S-bus servo or an S-Bus decoder. It is really not a servo programmer. You can do more if you program from the transmitter, and really do a lot if you program from a PC, using the CIU-2 and the PC-Link or S-Link software, depending upon which servo you're programming.

Okay I have an 18MZ and haven't played with the S-buss stuff yet but I'm collecting some servos in anticipation of using the system. As such, I'm interested in the programming of the servos as mentioned above, however Tower's website says that the CIU-2 is for programming Futaba speed controls from a computer;

With the proper software, you use the CIU-2 to program S-Bus and S-Bus2 servos.
The opening paragraph of the S-Link software instructions, for example, states that you need to use the CIU-2 interface with an S-Bus hub and a servo battery pack to program the BLS171HV, BLS172HV, BLS174HV, BLS175HV, BLS272HV, S3070HV, S3071HV, S3072HV, and S3172SV programmable servos.
The tech note is old. If something can be programmed via a PC, then you will use the CIU-2 interface to connect the Futaba hardware to the computer.

What operating systems will the Futaba CIU-2 work with? I have Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and a couple of S3073HV servos. I have the software loaded and am waiting on the CIU-2. I then noticed in the CIU-2 documentation that it supports Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 2000. The S-LINK software indicates Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP.
