Default 18 MZ Telemetry

Although I have had my 18 MZ for some time I was not using any telemetry. A friend mentioned to me that I should automatically get a Rx battery reading when using the Rx that came with my 18MZ? The 7000 series. Do I have to set up telemetry? Thanks

If you are using the R7008SB receiver, you will automatically have the receiver battery's voltage sent to the transmitter. If it's linked, you'll have the information.

You will not be able to use the Futaba R6303HF or R6303HFC receivers at the same time as you're using the R7003SB receiver because the R6303 receivers use the FASST protocol, and the R7003SB receiver uses the FASSTest protocol. Your transmitter can be set for only one or the other.

I am using 2 nos: Futaba 7008 Rx's with a PowerBox Royal SRS and an 18MZ Tx. I have 2 Temperature sensors and 1 optical sensor collecting data from the Engine mounted upfront However my 2 Rx's are mounted in the Tailplane about 10 feet away----Is it ok to use a 3 in 1 Hub and then extend a single lead of the Hub 10 feet to the SBus 2 port in one of the Rx's.

The telemetry can only be connected to the receiver that the transmitter considers the primary receiver. Telemetry from the other receiver will not be interpreted. You can see if the extensions will cause difficulties in the telemetry information.

With 2 nos: 7008 I am using a PowerBox Royal SRS with a Teleconverter which alone will feed Telemetry Data to 16 slots---Do I understand correctly that the 18 MZ has 31 Slots to accept data coming in from 31 Sensors.

No. Some sensors require multiple slots. The GPS sensor takes 8 slots, alone. You need to check the sensor's instructions, which will tell you which slots to use and how many are used.

The PowerBox GPS 2 takes 5 slots and the balance 11 are for other Fade-Frame Loss--Holds--etc data---Therefore a total of 16 slots are taken up by the Powerbox: In the 18 MZ Instruction Manual on Page 33 it mentions that there are 1-31 slots for Sensors. So I assume I can safely connect 3 more Futaba sensors giving data on Engine Temperature and RPM.

Is there any way that the entire Telemetry Data can be samletaneously displayed on an external , say IPad or LapTop in real time OR the entire Telemetry Data can be downloaded from the 18MZ to a LapTop after a flight to Store and historically analyse/compare later.

If you have unused telemetry slots, you can use them as you wish.

18MZ Telemetry log data can be converted to an Excel file with the conversion tool. Download it from here:
