No I never received an answer, but my reason for the question was answered. I have the 14SG. I was looking at some after market FHSS receivers that did not list the 14SG as a compatible
transmitter, It broadcasts on S-FHSS. But the advertising for the receivers was wrong. They actually were S-FHSS , so it all worked out, but I still do not the difference.

Sorry we didn't get this one when it was first posted. Don't know why it was missed.

FASST means "Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology". It contains the highest level of error checking in the signal coding. It's especially robust in a noisy RF environment

FASSTest adds telemetry

FHSS means "Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum". A type of spread spectrum coding that quickly changes frequencies, but doesn't have the stronger error checking that is in FASST coding. Basic FHSS is found in Futaba's lower-cost surface systems.

T-FHSS adds telemetry

S-FHSS is the updated version of FHSS used by Futaba's newer lower-cost aircraft systems.

Steve i wish you the best of luck with the14. I gave mine to my brother inlaw. Far above my head in complexity. Not sure how i got a degree in engineering in 72 but things were easier those days. If you havent already done so check out Malcolm Holts book on Amazon its pretty through on programming the 14 sg only 7 dollars you need kindle to read it or the app. but still i needed something easier. Best wishes...
