Linking Fut 617 rec to Fut SG 14 transmitr

I am having difficulty linking my Futaba 617 receiver to my Futaba SG 14 Transmitter.
I follow the directions for binding but no luck. Can anyone help?????

Please make sure that you have the System Type changed to "FASST-7CH" in the "System" section of the Linkage Menu. That's the protocol that's compatible with the R617FS receiver.

I have tried to change, but unable to do so. It remains at 14 Ch.
I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Can you explain how to change?
The instruction book leaves alot to be desired.
