I have an 8yr old son who is wanting to start flying. I'm wanting to buddy box him on my 8FG Super and we need another Tx to do this. What do you think would be a good entry level Futaba Tx that would serve our purpose of a student Tx AND also allow him to fly .40-.60 stuff for the next several years? Should we try and buy new or look for something used but in good shape?????

I appreciate any help you can give.

The 6J or 6K are good, entry-level transmitters. The 8J is similar with a bit more programming. The 6K is basically a 6J with some telemetry. Check the features here:
