Default 18MZ T-FHSS compatible?

Hi i just upgraded my MZ 18 to the newest firmware 2.7.1, Encode 2.4, however still don`t have the T-FHSS option in the system receiver menu. What could be the reason? Is 18 MZ not compatible with it?

I think the Tx needs a hardware change to support T-FHSS. The newer 18 MZ WC's have that.

EDIT: The T-FHSS is for surface Telemetry. So an Air Radio wouldn't use it.

It's for surface telemetry. Like on cars etc.

It's the telemetry supported version of the FHSS protocol. Futaba offers both both air and surface T-FHSS Rx's and its supported in the newer Tx's (16SZ,18SZ & 18MZWC). Generally option for park flyers, lesser expensive planes, etc.

Thanks, what is the reason for this? Is it a less reliable protocol? Less range maybe?

The lower cost has more to do with the lower cost of the sourced RF chips. Both are full range, both high reliability, one lower cost which is why I use in my lower cost airframes.

Search for FHSS vs FAAST and you'll see a lot of questions and even more speculative answers
