Default 18sz and T-FHSS

I have a question, My T18SZ manual lists the T-FHSS type receiver as compatible (page 12) but just noticed Futaba web site says no. Just ordered a R3008SB T-FHSS. Will it work or not. Thanks.

OK, I Think I miss-read the compatibility chart, Thanks anyway.

Just to confirm, yes it will work. The 18SZ does all current Futaba protocols:

FASST
FASSTest
SFHSS
TFHSS

Thanks Bill, AM, FM, 72meg, 9C, 10C, they were all great for the time, but this is like sitting in a Cadillac.

Bill,
Do you know if there is any chance that an update will come for the 18MZ standard not WC to be able to use the TFHSS, or is that just impossible?

Regards,
Steve

The reason they came out with the WC version was because incorporating T-FHSS required an actual hardware change to the RF deck. So no, there is no way to "update" an first edition 18MZ to do T-FHSS.

FWIW, the 18SZ does nearly everything the 18MZ does. Unless you absolutely must have custom voices and the camera, the 18SZ can save you a ton of money. And it does everything, FASSTest, FASST, SFHSS, T-FHSS.

Default Did anyone had RF failure

I lost control with my jet turbin and a glider in one weekend. Send the radio to futaba and I was told that the RF signal that the radio was omitting very weak they are not sure why this component fail and they don’t want to compensate me they even had the narves to ask for the repair’s cost.
did anyone experience this issue?
any idea how to deal with Futaba?

Sorry this happened, but this is not an open discussion thread. So I'm going to close the thread. I can say that I have not heard of this before. Doesn't make it any less unfortunate for you, but it is a rare situation. In addition, I am not aware of any radio manufacturer who will cover the costs of a crashed plane.
