Default Help with Futaba Channel assignments

I recently upgraded my old Futaba 72mhz system to a Futaba T10J. I'm looking at getting a DLG glider. It only needs 4 channels; 2 aileron ( independent, no Y harness so you can use an airbrake), rudder and elevator. I would like to use as small a receiver as possible. Looking at my 10J manual in the receiver and servo connections section, Glider mode, 2 aileron wing setup, it shows aileron1 on channel 1 and Aileron2 on channel 7.
Does this mean I have to use a 7 channel receiver if I want 2 independent ailerons? Is there a way to use a 4 channel receiver with this setup? What about a micro receiver?
Is there any aftermarket source of info on programming the 10J other than the manual?
Sorry for all the questions, but unfortnately info on the internet seems a little scarce to non existent on the 10J.

Any help would be appreciated
