Default Question about 9Z battery

Dear friends,

I have an older 9Z Futaba radio that has a 500mha 9,6V battery and, I would like to know if I could change thsi battery to new one that comes with 9ZWC2 radio, I think so is 1100mha.I would like to know if I could change the battery with the cases without problem and How I do to cycle this battery?

Thanks

Default RE: Question about 9Z battery

I put a 2100mah NiMH in my 9ZWC2 and it worked fine. I also did the jumper trick listed [link=http://www.siriuselectronics.com/diode_sheets/fut9zd.htm]here[/link]. This combo worked very well and gives very extended service between charges.

Regards, Guy

Default RE: Question about 9Z battery

Guy,

I think you don´t understand my question. The old Futaba 9Z(S) came with a battery case that comes with a 9,6v NiCd battery, such case cames with 9ZWC2 but I don´t if they are different from the older 9Z rádio, some people calls this old 9Z an 9ZWC1, I don´t know...The question is: If I put this battery case that comes with the newer version (9ZWC2), it will fit in my older 9Z? The connectors that came with this battery case(9ZWC2) are equal to those the cames with the older version or not? In resume, this change is possible? I was thinking to buy the 9ZWC2 battery case separately and put in my 9ZWC. What do you think?

Regards,
Érico

Sorry, you are correct, I misunderstood you. I do not know the answer to your question. I can tell you that the pack that comes with the WC2 has a small 5 pin connector on the right side of the pack (looking from the rear) that connects the pack to the radio.

Good luck, Guy

The current battery pack in the 9Z-WCII fits all 9Z models.
