Default 14 mz music playback problems

What is the deal with the music playback on the 14mz. It is bad enough that it is such a resource hog that the rest of the interface is nigh on useless with it on but it also skips and stutters far too often. I have tried sampling at different levels and had them high and low with no real difference. Could you find out what size file, version of wma file encoding and optimum sampling that is required to make this work correctly. It is obviously far from efficient as it is. Also I bought an album from MSN music for download which is supplied in wma form and these files cannot be opened on the 14mz, they lock the system up so badly that the only way to reset is by removing the battery or the compact flash card with the system still trying to reset. Not a good situation at all. Also I would like the system wav sound assignments to overide the music file so if I hit a switch the wav sound will play and not be overidden by the wma file.

Thanks for your help,
Paul

still bothered by the lack of headphones( advertised) manual(promised) and tshirt plus goodies which were very strongly implied.

Default RE: 14 mz music playback problems

I am looking at the properties on a file I can play on mine. I am using WMA 9.1 variable rate, quality 10. If you would like I will send you a file that you can try to play and if it does play for you, you could compare the settings to those you have that are failing. I will note however that I have NEVER been able to leave the music player screen while music is playing. I wonder how you are doing that? I assume you have the same verison of the OS as I have but what does the info screen say about the versions of things?

Regards, Guy

P.S. I too am a little upset about the false advertising on the headphones! Weak!!!
