Default FF8s Moving the gear from switch G to A???

Hi All,
On the FF8super the retract switch (Ch5) is switch G which is on the 'top' face of the tranny over on the right hand side. Am I alone in finding that my right hand (aileron / evevator) is far busier at the moment of wheels up/down than my left.? Compound this with the fact that I fly with the TX in a Tranny Tray which make access to the switches on the top face more difficult, and the result is a very 'non ergonomic' operation of the switch by my left hand reaching across to the top right corner of the TX to lift or lower the gear.

My preference would be to operate the U/c with switch A which is the top left switch on the front face of the TX.

Is there a way to achieve this? One that uses the software in the TX, before I consider an attempt at having the set re-wired? I consider(ed) that I am fairly competent with the software and manual, and I have the 'getting the most out of... book, but this one doesn't seem to get a mention

All suggestions appreciated
regards,
Stu K

Default RE: FF8s Moving the gear from switch G to A???

Hi Stu,

There is no "software" change available to do this, but you can manage this by negating the switch. Do a Channel 5 to channel 5 mix at positive 100% both ways, and assign this to switch A in the down position, then do another mix from channel 5 to channel 5 at negative 100% in both directions leaving the switch Null, this will place the gear switch on Switch A for you.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,
