Default 9Z Stick is Broken

The plastic at the base of my rudder/throttle stick on my 9Z is cracked. This allows the stick to move without moving the flight surface. The crack is not major but I am a little worred that the stick might come loose in time.

Do I need to send the radio in to get fixed or can I replace a part myself?

Thanks
Bret

Hi Bret,

The 9Z is very complicated internally, there are numerous PC boards and cables, it is not recommended that anyone other than a qualified techncian attempt repairs to this.

Please see our website regarding returning this to our service center.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,

I had the same problem with my 9Z. Go to your local hobby store and buy some aluminium tube which will fit snuggly over the cracked base of the gimbal. I recall it was on the Dubro rack. Simply cut off a small amount making a ring approx 1.8mm wide and press it over the base. I also used a little cyno to hold it together. Couldnt have worked better.
