Can I use the DSC port on the Futaba R319DPS 9-Channel PCM Synthesized Receiver to plug in my RX battery? I assume this must be the only way to actually use 9 channels.

Jim, I think you will need an "Y" cable to connect the battery and the 9th servo at the BAT connector on the RX. This is the same set-up you would need in a 138 or 148 Rx to connect the 8th channel as well.

You most certainly can use the DSC port for the receiver battery plug. That connector, and all the servo connectors, have their "+" and "-" in common. You can also use a "Y" connector to add the battery pack to any one of the servo channels. The one marked "9/B" is one that's "suggested" by Futaba, but you can use any of the servo connectors.

I have just purchased a second-hand Futaba R319DPS receiver. Could someone kindly explain to me what the "DSC Port" is used for, as I don't have the instructions for this item and I have never had such a socket before.
