BAX,.....is my 9Z WC2 "non serviceable???""
One of the head chesse guys at our local hobby shop mentioned to me the other day , that my 9Z WC2 is non servieable with the futaba repair servics center.....is this true? First off.....i really hope this isn't true , because i love my 9Z , and still to this day think it is one of THE BEST radio systems on the planet. #2......it's only about 4-5 years old and cost about $1400.00 brand new. Now maybe for a big company like futaba , they would think this wouldn't be hurting their loyal consumer's , but i can tell you one thing , if my lil' $1400.00 futaba 9Z WC2 radio is considered "out dated" and "non-serviceable".......i think i'm not only going to probbably shoot myself ( <<<< BTW that's a joke) , but in all honesty , i think i'll just go buy another brand if this radio ever goes bad. To me , that's one of the biggest slap in the face type loyalty you can get from anyone in the hobby. I think it's wrong.
Also.....if it's "non-servicable"........why are they coming out with a 2.4 moduel for it?
Jeff

RE: BAX,.....is my 9Z WC2 "non serviceable???""
Ok...........so a little birdie told me to go check this page out on the futaba info site >>>> http://www.futaba-rc.com/no-service.html , and i have now put my mind at ease. It looks as though my radio is still serviceable..............uuuuuhhhhhh THANK GOD!!!
I do have one other question........I can't for the lif of me figure out why this radio was dis-continued. I mean seriously , it has got to be the nicest radio i have ever held in my hands , and the options it has are completely unbeleiveable!!! I know they replaced it with the 9C series , but if you we're to look at both of them side-by-side..........you would think the 9Z was 10 years newer with about 3 times more options.
Anyways.....I just wanted to say sorry for venting a little in my first post. I got a little irritated having some LHS guy me that my 9Z was "old" and not able to get fixed if anything ever happened to it. I figured he was a little full of crap since my radio is included in the new moduel 2.4 line up......THANK GOD!! I love my 9Z WC2 !!! Wooohooo!!

Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately, like everything else there comes a time to retire an item and bring out new. This is the case for the 9Z. While production of it has ceased, our support of this will last for years.
The 9C is not the successor the the 9Z, you would want to look to the 12FG for this, please see this on our website at:
