reprogramming a Futaba display & 2.4ghz antenna
Has anyone ever heard of reprogramming a Futaba (8UAFS) to show more display characters in the model name? I really like my radio but wish it had at least 8 characters to name models with. I would be willing to give up some other display area for this. It isn't worth selling it and buying a 9C or similar to gain 2 characters.
Also, I have a TM-8 2.4ghz module that I'll be using "forever" and will replace the 72mhz extentable antenna with a 2.4ghz antenna. I'm looking at the 6EX or 7C 2.4ghz antenna as a good candidate. Has anyone used these antennas? I've seen pictures of people that have used the Spektrum antenna and it worked well but the pivot is about 3" above the Tx case. Futaba's antenna pivots very close to the TX and would be desireable for storage in it's case.
Any help would be appreciated.
