It is not possible to perform an upgrade from the 9C to the 9C Super. That's because you'd need to replace the entire main circuit board, which contains the processor. It would cost you about the same amount of money as it would to buy a new transmitter. In fact, you can likely purchase a used transmitter off of one of the auction sites for less than it would cost to replace the main board of your transmitter.

Hello! I am considering converting my Futaba 9CHP Transmitter into 2.4 GHz with a:
Futaba TM-8 8-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Module 9C/9Z/8U/7U

My question is can I use any of Futaba's 2.4GHz receivers with the TM-8 module in my transmitter... For example
I have many planes just using 4 channels and I could purchase the 4 instead of the 8 channel receivers...
OK
Thank You & Happy Flying!!!

You may use any of the airplane receivers. For 7 and fewer-channel receivers, you'll need to set the module to "7-channel" mode, and for the 8- and 14-channel receivers, you'll set to "Multi" mode.

Thank You Very Much Bill... I understand also that some of the smaller lighter receivers will also limit my range...In other words sufficient for Park Fliers and smaller park planes...

Thanks Again,
Mojo

Bill,

On the Tower Hobbies website, I cannot find the Futaba TM-8 8-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Module 9C/9Z/8U/7Uto convert my 9C transmitter to 2.4 ghz. Is it no longer available? If it is available still, since I have several PPM and PCM receivers, can I just switch modules easily going back and forth from 72mhz to 2.4 ghz based on the planes I will fly for the day?

Thanks,
Mike

The Futaba TM-8 transmitter module was discontinued over a year ago, and was sold out before the end of 2015. You may be able to locate one somewhere online.
