Firmware updates for 14MZ, 12Z, 12FG, 8FG!

Futaba has just released new firmware updates for all four of the above mentioned transmitters. There are a TON of new features in each of these updates. It's almost like getting a new transmitter!

Download the update for your transmitter at:

looks like we no longer have the option of not transmitting on 2.4. least i couldn't access the "on air" icon to try and change it.

Hi mongo,

You just need to have the 72 or 50 Mhz module installed when you power up, you can then go into the Frequency screen and select which channel you want.

I liked the option to disable transmitting - even on 2.4 - since it saved on battery power when I am programming the 12FG.

No biggie... Downloaded it... installed w/ no problems... I love the bigger timers! That alone was worth the update.

You and Bax keep up the great work!

An easy update for my 12FG (oh, what a radio once you pass the aha! moment of programming)
I haven't explored all the new features but the large timers correct a bit the low volume beeper problem and the possibility of changing models from the main screen is great.
I guess that the new firmware means that the 12FG is here to stay for a while and we will not suffer constant new model releases like other brands.

Not at all... go ahead. I use more than one SD card for my models to have a backup in case something goes awry.

I found an easy way to not transmit on 2.4. Just leave the throttle at about half position prior to turning on the transmitter. You'll get a "THR POSITION" warning. Go ahead and press "YES" to continue. The system will go to the home screen, and the RF icon will display "RF OFF". Also, you can do a range check from here via the SYSTEM menu

Once you're ready to actually transmit, make sure the throttle is closed, and select the RF OFF icon as you used to do.

I'm still using the as shipped software in my 12FG, v1.3 I think. Do I need to step through the previous updates or can I jump straight to applying v2.0 ?

You can use the latest update. It includes all prior revisions.
