Pat and John,
Granted for those that do their homework there shouldn't be any surprises. I'm afraid a lot of people will just stuff the engines into an airframe and hope for the best. Too many just want to fly, they don't want to do the work necessary to insure success. Especially if it involves math. The only questions more prevelent than what prop to use is what oil to use. Bob Pastorello spent a lot of time on a sticky for beginners at the top of the forum yet the same questions are asked again and again.

Hey but that's what these forums are about - helping each other.
John

AV8t0R, if you are out there give me your opinion. Do you think the Enya 1.8 would run pretty darn good by using a O.S. Max 4 cycle glow plug and 20-30 percent of glow fuel mixed with gas. you know like we have been doing with otherengines. The engines we ran would Idle slow as or slower than most CD ignition engines. The neat thing...no ignition CD unit is needed or a ignition battery or switch. It is great to not need to install all that extra ignition items and no extra battery to charge. No special charger for ignition battery either. Looks like I am going to do more experimenting when I get back home. Best Regards Capt,n

The oil is not providing the magic. In the video thread they say the engine will run on any 2 stroke oil but you need the lube of the oil they provide or the engine will sustain damage.

I see what you mean. I may buy one of the special Glow plugs Enya has and try it in one of my own engine conversions to see what oil and gas mixtures will work with that plug. I can tap the threads if needed so the glow plug will fit. I have adapters already for bigger sparkplug sizes. They thread into exhisting sparkplug threads and new plug threads into it. You could call it a threaded adapter. Many engine sizes could be tested with many different fuel/0il ratios. Looks like fun too me...remember I worked in a experimental engine test lab at the shop where I worked. Capt,n
