Zenoah G-26 Starting Alternative ?
I am presently starting a G-26 with a heavy duty starter and 24. volts, but it's a real PITA for a 80 year old man to carry out on to the flight line. Now don't tell me to try and flip start it, because I have until my arm nearly fell off. So what are my alternative solutions ? I'd like to stay with magneto, is there a jump start system available that will make flip starting easier, so that I can stay with magneto ?

CH Ignitions used to offer a Quick Start system for magneto engines like yours that was powered by a small battery that made hand starting a breeze and as soon as the engine started the battery was disconnected and the engine continued running on the mag. Maybe the new CH Ignitions guy Adrian still has them available.

I would suggest you get a Hangar 9 12Volt Power Pro starter. I have one which spins my g26 very well on a single 12 volt battery (7AH). Mine cost me $30 or so at my LHS. Another option would be to get an RCExl ignition conversion kit. If you do a google search you will find them online for under $100. Not sure how quick/easy the cpnversion would be but this should enable hand starting.
