guess I should have gotten it from 'kiwi'bob but missed your place of residence altogether.
Didn't realize it gets so warm down there in January, but 40 degrees C is pretty common where I live this time of year. Down here in southeast TexasUSA we are now working on 45 days or so where the high temps haven't been below that - and also no rain. Hasn't been terribly windy but sure keeps me from flying anything past 10AM or so

Dallas area, where I'm at, we're working on 65 days over 100 degrees this summer. We're roasting down here! We got a break today and it was "only" 102f!

In fairness, we don't hit the 40 degree range that often, but we do get there for a few days almost once or twice every year (well we have ever since I moved down here - also got 8000+ bl@@dy earthquakes/tremors in the last year too ... grrrr [:@]), high 20's to 30+ is nothing out of the ordinary though, makes for some nice weather if you don't mind the constant wind.

As for the handle, yep, I am indeed a "kiwi" from way down in good old New Zealand, and 'bob' is just a nickname I had picked up once upon a time .... though before you ask, I'm NOT 72 ok!! (lol)

yeah Dallas generally hotter than Houston, but I'll trade you my constant 90% humidity for your drier heat. I fly in the early morning hours, temps generally about 80, but it'll get almost unbearable by 10 - by then I've soaked thru three shirts.[&o]

Not while flying a plane or heli, but driving - YES (mag 5.1 - you feel all drunk for a moment wondering W. T. F??), sleeping - YES (anything up to, and including the 7.3 we had this time last year that started it all for us - and this mornings 4.9 ..... GRrrrrrrrr [:@]), and while in the shower (5 again) - Lets just say that it's hard to grip onto ANYTHING when you all wet and soapy!! (LOL)

Least it's a stunning spring day out, and if I can get home in time from work, I might take the 50 sized nitro heli that I have out if the wind stays off, as I can fly that at my 'secret' field that I have 3 min from home (too small for planes).

I'll be installing the DLE20 into a Pulse XT 125.  I'll be sure to update with more details as I work through it.

"Kiwibob" I have the plane but I am out of town till the 12th so I can not do anything with it until then. I ordered a new cowl for it so I can fit it properly. The one was cut all up for the Saito 100 so I wanted to replace it. I can't get one for my other H9 Mustang since they don't make it anymore.

I've seen your posts in the Pulse 125 thread so I do know... I can't wait.

do you have any pictures of the engine installed? Where'd you endup sticking the ignition? Are you running the stock muffler?

Sharp looking slab, and good price!
Odd style of wing attachment & wheel pants though.

Odd style of wing attachment & wheel pants & thin eng mount rails.
No wonder it's priced so low.

NO REPLY>>>QUESTION

Without reading the several pages....has anyone placed a DLE 20 on a C. Goldberg Ultimate Bipe? Thanks, Capt,n
Which C.G. Ultimate? The 54 inch or the 60.5 inch?
I have the 60.5 inch but just ordered a Syssa 30cc 180hp for it.
This DLE 20 with all the rave reviews I think will finally release me from the stanglehold of glow. I will be selling several of my glow engines to replace them with DLE 20's I think. So, in the interest of this thread I plan on installing DLE 20's in the following airframes.

H9 Funtana X100 - currently powered by OS 1.20 two stroke
Sig P-51B - new in box ARF but was planning a Saito 1.25 install

and I'm sure there will be more

I too have a Texas RC Planes Drastik . I thought it would be a good replacement for the Hangar 9 Ultra Stick that I cannot
purchase any more . I also have a DLE 20 ready to install . Please keep us informed about how Texas RC Planes resolves
this problem . Sorry for your loss zoaartcc . It sure looks like a manufacturing defect .
I talked with TX Air today about the photos and the loss of the airplane as a result. He agreed that it looks like a MFG failure and has sent the photos to the MFG to see what they say. We decided to hold off on any actions until we hear what the Mfg says. He had never seen this type failure before he stated and sounded as though he thought they should replace the plane. Will keep you informed as things come along.

Dan

Texas RC Planes has agreed to replace my Drastik at no cost and I pay for shipping only. I think this was a fair deal and am pleased with the way they handled this issue. Great to find a dealer that will stand behind his products.

Dan

Thanks for the update Dan .

Are you going to reinforce the tail end of your new plane ? Makes me a little worried about my build .
I think I will take off the covering and check the glue joints back there .

I will be adding some thin ca glue to the last bulk head area where the solid blocks attach to it. It can be gotten to through the opening for the vertical stableizer.
