The script screams of Chinese incursion. If you go to the link OP posted, you're directed to a page with cyrilic Chinese characters. All that money we send to the Reds via Walmart and ARF's is being used to fund the Red Army's Cyber Division- The reds snoop and hack the US on a daily basis. It's basic intel gathering. I see this stuff every day as an IT Pro.

RE: RCU Virus Infected
Looks like the process of blacklisting has commenced:
Here is a link showing the original link that was embedded into the header of RCU and keeps popping up time and time again
http://malc0de.com/database/index.ph...=www.gds.or.kr
If you do a Google search for www.gds.or.kr, you will see an increasing number of references to RCU as being flagged as an "infected" or "unsafe" site.
This bothers me personally. I have been a member since 2003 and a paying member for much of that time and I don't want to see RCU end up blackholed by any means, DNS or others.

John,
This has been going on for 15 years or better. China is not, nor ever has been, our friend. We've been engaged in electronic warfare with them for a VERY long time. One of the reasons their junk cannot be used in military equipment. They cannot be trusted and one should anticipate the time when we will be cut off from China product supply.

RE: RCU Virus Infected
I hope they change, because my outlook now is....buy from other trusted places. I hope we can also start making some of the electronic items right here. I think it is better to own only a couple of quality airplane set-ups than to own a fleet of junky stuff. A person also learns the fine details of a airplane or engine the more you use just 1 or 2....instead of half understanding what you have. Capt.n

To all of you guys who are saying ''you don't have a problem with the site'' or ''you are not seeing any virus popups''
1. The very fact that you are not seeing anything may be a serious concern, or that the malware is let through on your computer without a warning, or;
2. Your security software ''silently'' blocks the infection attempts
Both are equally bad, - silent blocking takes away from you the ability to be aware what is going on and respond in an proper fashion.

Granted, any level of security can eventually be penetrated, and sometimes has.
But if a user follows a multi-level approach, they'll be better protected. NOT impervious,
but such makes it tougher for the script kiddies to get through. They goes for the easy route first.
Consider your living on the 10th floor of an apartment building. There's the elevator (easy route),
and the stairwell (tougher route) with many doors. With web browsing & little or no security, you're
using the elevator. With multi-layered security (like taking the stairwell), web browsing is much safer.
Those like myself, using FireFox with NoScript + AdBlocker, are intercepting
web based malware as our first line of defense. Should we turn OFF such protection,
we'd be alerted by our next line of defense. If we choose to, we can see potential attacks.
NoScript shows me at the bottom of my browser, what's being allowed (by me).
For me, it's rather difficult (not impossible) for much of anything bad to get through;
A router with a hardware firewall, running a custom Linux software, locked up like Fort Knox.
A software firewall that allows blocking of BOTH inbound AND outbound traffic.
An OS fully patched, NOT run as 'administrator'
Frequently backed up.
FireFox running NoScript + AdBlocker, run inside SandBoxie [http://www.sandboxie.com/]
An A/V fully updated.
Plus a few other security measures.
Paranoid approach? Probably.
Safe & secure? Most likely.
Impervious? No.
Worried? Nope!
It's sad ya need to do so much to protect ourselves while on the 'net, but we no longer live in the land of Oz.

How much protection do you get from Windows 7 which tells you if something is trying to change a computer file?

You want to prevent bad stuff from ever getting into your PC.
See my other post up above, regarding the HOSTS file.
One great site to test your PC various ports is;
https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
That's their Shields-Up port testing site. It will tell you if you have any open ports,
and loads of good info about such.

RE: RCU Virus Infected
Well, I posted this information in the "Problems" forum and they deleted it. This thread seems to have a lot more traction any way. Here is who owns RCU with a email address to tech support. We need to start sending this guy some email - like it would do much good.

I was part of a very large automotive site that was bought out by a company like Internet Brands, Inc. After months of problems, one of the prominent members got fed up and created his own site and invited everyone over. Everyone went. Leaving the old site an empty shell with pissed off advertisers.

RE: RCU Virus Infected
I have been getting a pop-up blocker from my anti spyware/virus program, (PC Tools-Spy Doctor), when I go to this site. I went to "settings" and put this site on my "approved" list. I still get an occasional pop-up blocker. I don't know what he problem is. I have done a number of complete anti spyware/virus scans on my computer with two programs and have come up clean. The second program was Superantispyware, which is a free download and has worked good for me in the past. I'm using Windows Internet Explorer and Google. Just adding my nickels worth...

RE: RCU Virus Infected
The current bug/glitch involves youtube videos, and sites that link to them.
You'll get a web browser crash in some cases.
It involves a "Potential Clickjacking/UI Redressing Attempt" and D.E.P. attempt.
In Windows, look up "DEP" under Help and Support.

You guys need to be posting in the Forum Problems. I've been wearing them out over on that form and finally a network admin posted up the usual "It is our top priority and we take this seriosuly". I was starting to question their manhood in that forum and I guess they got a bit upset. I also posted where you could contact the site admin directly (email address) but they quickly took that down.

Check out my IS ANYONE LISTENING?? thread. The site admin makes a rare appearance.

I see all our script buddies are back this morning after being absent yesterday
I see all our script buddies are back this morning after being absent yesterday
I was able to find it by starting FireFox itself in 'Safe Mode' which disables all 'addons' but starts fully secured.
Then you go through your 'addons' (extensions & plugins) one by one, until you find the culprit.
This one may be one case where it's outside RCU and maybe not their fault.
Hopefully youtube.com will fix their problem.

In W2K/WinXP; Control Panel|Internet Options|General|Browsing History|Delete|Cookies| then delete
(all I remember at the moment, as my spare PC testbed has it's guts all laid out on the bench right now).
