Instruction sheet(s) for 1946 Champion engine?
Gentlemen; Thanks for the discussion on the dual point system for my old Champion circa 1946 ignition engine; now if I could find the instruction sheet(s), copy thereof, that were supplied with this engine when new, that would be great and no doubt, save me some time "fooling" around with it. Again, my intent to getting it running will be for show only at old antique engine shows when I run my old farm engine. As a matter of fact, I would love to have any information on this engine. A Internet searce gave me the manufacture years as 1946 ~ 1948 by Attwood Manufacturing. Also, there was a link to click for the original 4 page brouchure, but that was a dead link. Thanks again for information on this subject. My 94 year old father-in-law that bought the engine new for his kids (and they took it apart) and gave it to me, would just love to hear it run! RE: Instruction sheet(s) for 1946 Champion engine?
That is the point setup W8YE. The engine shown is a Super Champion, I believe. The one shown has a round exhaust port and mine is square. Clarence Lee does sound like a good source, wonder if he does this site or email? Thanks again, de KO8S, PT-109

The points set up appears to be lever down, retarded timing for starting the engine - Lever up, advanced timing for high speed and flight.
The advanced points do not work and remain open when the lever is down. With the lever up, the retarded points never close.
