He is from the Netherlands. English isn't his mother tongue.

I sure understand what he meant to say. I think he is pretty brave saying some of it though

Speaking of books. The ''Understanding Women'' manual is out in stores now, just in time for the holiday season.

HA HA, now that's funny. BUUUUT not so fast!!! I understand he misunderstood the subject. Or was that he misremembered? Take ur pick

DA must be flattered, half China looking to their product and carefully trying to copy it. It must be good, Chinese aren't that stupid to copy junk.
Yes the DLx family has seriously expanded the last few years and the uncertenty of who's making what is understandable .

And that other thing, language for us Dutch and Dutch speaking Belgian people, reasonably we are supposed to talk whatever our conversation partner talks, German, French, English and if by any means possible Spanish and Italian and we manage pretty well but if you want us to write it too, we get a bit tangled-up sometimes.

Not much here, maybe about 6". It has been very warm this winter and it will be above freezing for the next few days and the long range shows the mild conditions will last into the new year. We are loving it.

Just got the offer for the EME - V2

DLE55 on Tower - USD 295 ( after USD 75 international customer discount)

Vs

EME55VII from SDShobby - USD 295

wondering what is the motivation as it costs the same as the tried and tested DLE ???

Americans have no idea how good you have it.
The sheer quantity you guys import brings the price down, in Australia a dle 55 is $495 , you guys pay $295.

I would have double the amount of planes if I lived there
Same price? go dle.

Mark, I am in India where it is much worse than anywhere in the world.....aeromodelers are considered a national security risk !!!!
We have a total of 3 hobby shops in India and so mostly depend on Tower, SDS and others.... The small stuff comes in by post parcel without raising too many eyebrows BUT the engines and models are mostly hand carried by freinds, family & self.
We are all members of the Towerhobbies international super savers club and so get the discounts.

Contrary to the advice, I have gone ahead and ordered the EMEv2 - the urge to try something new was hard to resist !! It is shipped to Singapore and will be hand carried by my nephew!!! Will revert with the report once I have it in my hand.

I now have to find someone to carry a model for me !

Sandy Jain,

What is your report on the EME 55 v2. I too have just ordered one and then saw that you order one last year. How do you like it?

Jim, I have no regrets at all. I just started flying with this engine few months ago and may have had about 25 flights....never a problem. I am using a 23x8 xoar and get about 6700 RPM at WOT.
It is a exact clone of the DLE55.....
Only issue has been that the muffler bolts keep coming lose...it seems like a known issue with EME engines and has been mentioned in the other thread about EME engines 60 and 120. If fact these 2 sizes are also very popular.
I will kepyou posted about any further developments/ tips....

Sandy Jain,

Thank You for you reply and data about this engine. I am going to be installing in into a Dave Platt 80" FW-190a using a Xoar 22x10 prop. I will be very happy to get 6700RPM from this engine because according to the manual that is with its power range.

Ilan

Are you happy with your EME-55?. I just got mine and I am looking forward to getting it mounted and test running it with a 22x10 prop.

Here is a short video I found on youtube that shows an EME 55 spinning a 23x10 prop at just a little over 7000RPM with an idle at 1700RPM. I hope mine does as well. I am not familiar with the brand of prop that is used but it is still very impressive.
