fuel line size for the big ones?
What size fuel line or tubing are people using for the zdz 80? I've been told that the 1/8" stuff is good, but I have a hard time getting it to fit over the carb fitting. I'm currently using the 1/8 brass tubing in the tank - coming off that with 1/8" tygon, then at my fuel filter changing to larger diameter to get to the carb.

Your engine is only using 1-2 oz of fuel a minute. 1/8" line is just fine for that use. Use Easy Flex from http://www.aerotrend.com/shop_subcat.php?subcat=4

gas use
My ZDZ 80 single is using up a 24 ox tank in about 12 minutes. It is using about 2 oz/min, and I thought that to be a bit high. I have me HI needle set at 1.5 turns out and my LO needle set at 3.5 turns out. I know I know, that is WAY off. But that seems to be where it likes to run at the low end. If I lean it out much more, it is really difficult to start. But the rich LO end doesn't seem to affect the mid range or transition at all!

Sounds to me like you have some dirt in the jets in your carb if you require 3 1/2 turns out on the low end. You should consider cleaning the carb (or have a good mower repair place do it.)
