Other NGH 35 here on an Edge 540,maiden flight.Pilot forces engine really hard though,because engine still new.At the beginning pilot is trying to trim the plane to fly like a plane.
I want to remind NGH 35 owners, be careful with exhaust screws,may get loose at flight.Better use Locktite etc.

As far as my experience on my friends' engines,they run great.Reliable engines.One needed to change RCEXL ign. unit(why ?? ).
Only user must be very careful on fuel plumbing on side exhaust engines because carb inlet looks towards muffler.You can rely on manufacturer support.
They have liner type cylinder so can be wait for a long life.Prop connection is on the main shaft so no risk of multiple bolt breakdown syndrom.(A 3W throw prop last week during hoover)

RE: NGH 35 CC Gas engine.
I normally tighten up the muffler screws, Then run the engine for a while to heat it up good. Then stop the engine and retighten the screws while the engine is hot. That usually does the trick. Sometimes I need to put in a couple of lockwashers for those special cases that occur once in a while. I don't normally use exhaust gaskets as the gaskets seem to allow the screws to come loose. But it is odd that with gasoline engines they don't seem to have that problem as much as the glow engines do. So using a gasket on a gas engine is normally not a problem. I think it has to do with the amount of surface area the mating surfaces on the muffler and engine. Glow engines usually have very little as compared to a gas engine.

Another flight of Yak 54 with NGH35 GT.In fact there were 3 GT35 at field today.One was on bench for break in and you can hear it on background while fast idling after a variable speed running.
3 rd one is on a Sundowner which is still on trimming phase.

Yes I just talk to friend and he says,18-10 wooden prop,unlimited vertical.Weight about 4900grs(Pilot RC yak 54).He didnt remember the tach.but I guess it should be about 7500+ RPM s.

This motor is getting better with time, seems to be 400rpms over a DLE. I had when throw 2 mufflers before I gave up and drilled a hole in the back 1/2 of the muffler and ran a stud with 2 nuts in the muffler and 1 set of nuts on the out side to help support the weight of this larg muffler.

Hi Mike,Mr.Chow is aware of muffler bolt problem and says new bolt system is available now.I guess he uses longer bolts but also I think owner must pay special care when tightening the muffler bolts.(care against stripping and using nord locks for example)

Hello NGH 35 users. I want to purchase at least one, maybe two NGH 35 engines but can not find any one otther than Apage who has them and they are selling them @ list price. Troy Built had them on sale but on back order, but don't even list the 35 any more. Does any one know where I can get one in the US at below full list price?

Really like the NGH motors. Have a 25cc....the 58mm made a perfect drop in for a 120 - 140 four stroke motor mount.
Was looking at the NGH 35 to replace a YS 140DZ in an old pattern plane.....unfortunately the thing weighs over 10oz. more than the new DLE 35 rear exhaust that is coming out.

20x8 prop, 5,800 RPMs, 1.62 HP, 43.9mph, 8.99 pounds thrust (70.7kph, 6.61kg thrust)
20x10 prop, 5480 rpms, 1.69 HP, 51.9 mph, 8.91 pounds thrust (83.5 kph, 6.75 kg thrust)
I noticed that the Saito FG-30 gas engine uses 16x8 through 17x10, 18x6 size props, so maybe the 20x8 and 20x10 props that you used, might be a little too large for your engine.

Michael Chow, I am curious as to what the third ring groove on the piston is for. If you didn't need it, why machine in the groove onto the piston? Or is there a third ring on the piston? How does oil get to the bottom, camshaft area, valves etc?

Earl, first ring is pressure ring, second ring is oil ring, they are with different shapes and functions. third groove idea is from glow engine piston store some oil and dirt while engine running.
made a solution for supercharging and lubricating, there are two nipples on INTAKE MANIFOLD, and two nipples on Back cover. need be connected with pipeline.
Two nipples on Intake-Manifold: one is no pass to intake-manifold but pass to Walbro carb, one connection from back cover, so the pressure from crankcase to carb via this nipple to supercharge.
one nipple is pass to intake-manifold and connected from another nipple on back cover.
So, when piston move from TDC to BDC, the pressure from crankcase boost to carb and manifold via two connections.
when piston move from BDC to TDC, the negative pressure from crankcase will suck gas mixture to crankcase via the another nipple connection (not from carb connection nipple, one-way), to lubricate the roller bearing, and there is a hole inside the crankshaft, the oil transferred into cam gear for lubrication via this hole.
when engine running, the carb will pump twice for each cycle, one is effective pump, one is noneffective, and now make second noneffective pump to send oil to crankcase for lubrication via the seond nipple on manifold to second nipple on back cover.
