RE: Gasoline Rotary Engine from Thunder Tiger NEW!
what happened to this thread? I recall it having a lot more replies than this.
I have had trouble posting and logging in and out, but not noticed threads chopped up like this, is it just me?

I would very much like to hear this baby run and know the estimated retail price.
A shop I used to go used to have an OS 30 Wankel, beautifull piece of engineering, but super expensive, unfortunately.
If I had the dough, I wouldn't care about fuel consumption, not everyone has a baby-Mazda engine on their shelf.[8D]
@3136, not worth opening up the wound, mate.

You can see the intake and exhaust ports, that's what's keeping the engine upright on the table (3rd photo)

This new Thunder Tiger rotary looks very similar to the Nitto, which has been available for some time now. It actually falls in the middle of the Nitto range of engines, as far as displacement goes.

Here you can see the 20cc engines and watch videos of them:

And here is their new 80cc Wankel under development:

The gas carb mounting on the .20 looks weird but looks better for the glow version. Website is a bit light on info and many of the nitto link go to a yahoo page that is in either Chinese or Japanese. Still interesting as I hadn't know of any other RC Wankel manufacturer outside of the one produced by OS. Will be interesting to see if ThunderTiger brings any other sizes out. The smaller .20 or similar size would be nice.

Cool, I still have my Wankel from about 30 years ago. It was the smoothest running engine I have ever had, a little thirsty and a little down on power compared to other glows of it's size

Do these have any vibration at all???
Is this the future of rc engines?
It has a very pleasant exhaust note....
This is huge in the 1/5 scale cars....as they have very irritating tones and a 4-stroke will not rev high enough...
I realize the concept has been around for quite some time...but don't these things rev to the moon??
The nito 80cc has a pull start!....looks like a awsome option for use in a rc car!......

tower hobby doesn't carry all the parts to the OS wankel engine...so I can assume they will discontinue it.....
That engine is made in japan...so if thunder tiger rotory is made in Tiwan....that it will run about the same price...450$....Sounds like it would be worth it to me....
