It is a sweet sounding engine. Quieter but a more purposeful noise to it.
It sounds less stressed than the DLE20 or instance. Seems to be a feature of the Mintor engines. My 33 sounds beautiful compared to the DLE 30 of my chum, My M22 sounds a whole lot better than the DLE20 is have too.

Capt'n be patient, they are just being delivered. Soon you will be hopefully hearing all the wonderful stories about it. There is quite some chatter about it over on that other site ..... hint hint

FedEx just dropped a box at my door! This is a very nice looking little engine, even came with a real live NGK plug! Now if I can find a little time I can do a little ARF work.
Pictures?

Hey there AJ, let us know what you think of the muffler. I'm curious how well it fits in cowls.

Thanks for the info. Any chance you could post some of those excellent photos as you have in the past?

AJ and Ghoffman, thanks for posting all the photos. Any guess what the measurement is from the C/L of the engine to the outside edge of the muffler? I'm wanting to fit a 20 size engine to my small GP CUB and would also like to try one of these Mintor engines. But it has to fit.

I just took a quick look and it's a hair over 2 1/2'' from the CL to the outer edge of the muffler.
It might fit! I'll have to check into this more. I do want to get rid of the Saito 125.

That is one sweet looking little engine. Is a good fuel/oil mix the same as the DLE 20?

I think the DLE 20 calls for 32:1 the Mintor calls for 50:1 even on break in. They just tell you to run the fuel mix a little rich and be nice to it for about 10 flights .
I'm always nice ......... to my engines?!

Need to change your screen name?? Lol
I should change it as I no longer race. But I still have pleasant memories. And ... I am nice to my engines. I have even been known to fondle one every once in awhile!! [X(]

32:1 or whatever you choose is just fine - i run all my 4 mintors on 35:1 from day one and forever. it will do them no harm

If the oil to gas ratio is 50-1 the Mintor 22ccengine sure must have good needle/roller bearings on the rod ends. At least the big end of the rod. Any photos of the inards???

Thanks Capt,n
