I have to concur with ahicks. Like I said earlier the 18x6 is on a 16lb Waco. For the plane it's perfect. But it is a slow flier, very scale, and a handfull. Definitely not capable of many manuver's. It will loop if put in a dive and roll's are very nerve wracking. Good luck on your endeaver's.

I recently took my 12lb Wild Stick with the 26cc gas engine out again. What fun!
I also flew my 16lb Giant Big Stck with the 30cc DLE ... And a 18x8 prop ... Not nearly as fun. I'm looking at using a 19x6 prop next time. The plane flys good but not nearly as aerobatic hence another prop change looking for the "sweet spot". I think AHicks is correct.

I am using a 16/8 on my CG WildStick (12 lbs) with a CRRC Pro 26cc which is very aerobatic and a 17/6 on my GP Giant BigStick (16 lbs) with a DLE-30 which is fun but less aerobatic.

This plane is the dynaflite stick built. The wing span is 89in with a wing area of 1237. It's advertised box weight is 16-18 lbs. I guess my weight at 16lbs must not be too bad. It flew marginal with the 16/8, climb out was pretty lame. I had to add a pound of lead up front so a larger motor would work out fine but not sure if I want to spend the money on this plane. I could probably sell the 26 mvvs to off set the cost, but might not get alot for it.

Jeff, that news is a definite game changer. Your first post says you have the 78" plane. So that leaves you still wanting to get more rpm for your engine - with a much greater potential for a great flying plane for your trouble! You could try it with that 18" prop, but it's going to be pretty doggy I think. I would really cool it on those first few takeoffs and landings until I had a good idea of what to expect - from the engine and the plane. Keep the initial climb out shallow to allow it time to gather plenty of airspeed. -Al

I had to be careful on my climb out with the 16in prop so I am anxious to try it with the 18x6 with over a lb of pull more. I dont think it will be drastically different but I would think it would be better. I guess I am getting old not remembering what plane kit it was that I had built I will be hitting the half century mark this month. Maybe I do need this slow flying plane.
thanks

I dont feel old until I go to a heli event and all the pilots are barely out of high school. I hope I am still flying at 77 years old. You can be proud.
