DLE carb repair
Hi,
I crashed my model and as a result the fuel nipple on the carb broke. The carb is marked "DLE" and the fuel nipple is made of a plastic fitting installed in the carb body. I would like avoiding buying a new carb...any suggestions on possible repairs?
Can't wait to go flying again...

RE: DLE carb repair
The "DLE" carb is a clone of a Walbro carb. Fuel inlets can be purchased from many sources such as small engine shops
or order thru your local hobby shop. They are pressure fitted into the carb and easy to replace, no need to purchase a
new carb!

A fuel nipple broke off on my DLE 20 while I was flying. I called their repair center and ask them to send me one and I would replace it. I even offered to pay for a couple. The tec there told me those could not be replaced and they sent me a brand new carb. Brian

Now how did you get that perfect, symmetrical, flawless blob of solder on the end of that tube????
BTW, I use 1/8" brass compression fitting ferrules from the hardware store for that purpose myself. Work great!

RE: DLE carb repair
Thanks guys, I'm going to have to go with the elbow as the engine set up does not allow me to reverse the throttle arm on the carb.
Now just for future references do you use the red locktite when you are installing a brass fuel inlet with the 5/32 brass tubing

I just broke my plastic fuel fitting on my DLE-20. [:'(] Do you just press the 5/32 brass tubeing into the carb using the res loctite on it? I will pick up the tubing tomorrow and give it a try.

Found this old thread, I had a wreck and the nipple cracked off, so the tubing trick is nice, but what can I do about the fiber arm for the throttle, mine cracked off where the link attached.

RE: DLE carb repair
i made a throttle armext.from a piece of carbon fiber i had laying around the other thing is the screw that holds the arm on is real short the thread size is 4-40 get you some allen screws dubro sels a pack. about 1/2 inch and cut to fit will never come loose and whole lot better than that phillip screw that comes with the engine. hope this helps also j.b. weld would make in stalling the ful tube a great glue to hold it there till the cows come home just dont let it get inside the carb
