Default DLE-30 idle

Hi, I have an issue with the idle on my dle-30. when I throttle back to a idle, after a few seconds the idle will increase to a high idle and then drop back to the original idle within a minute. The carb is clean and no air leaks. I've run about 1 gallon of gas through the engine so far. will the idle issue improve when the engine is broke in. Tim

Have you tuned the carburator?

That's actually a pretty good question. Too many assume the carbs are set at the factory. I have another question. Is this happening on the ground or in the air? If on the ground, have you watched to see what the throttle arm is doing when this happens?

Yes I have tuned it. And no I havn't looked at the throttle arm to see if it moves. When I land I notice the throttle issue.

The idle issue will improve as the engine breaks in . After it breaks in you will be able to retune for a lower more reliable idle . Untill it breaks in you will need to run a slightly richer low needle to get idle consistency, unfortunately this will add to the mid range burble . A little burble is better than an unreliable idle speed IMHO.
