You don't have to run digital's. Yes, they are nice but not a necessity. I run jr digital's, hitec digital's, and never had a problem except wearing out gear trains. I currently own at least 20 of the power hd 1501's. They're fast, have tons of torque and center quite well for an analog servo. Right now I've got a 30cc mxsr with 1501's and it performs great. I'm also trying out some XQ digital's in a 50cc that seem to be a fantastic servo for the price.

My other planes I'm running 1501's in. I'm trusting some pretty decent airframes to these servos. The corsair has the XYZ 20 in it. Still waiting on good weather to maiden. Prop is a 16x8 xoar.

Mpizpilot,

Well, You have a nice collection of planes. I like that especially Corsair and Edge. Since you are using Power HD 1501 without any problems, and they have metal gears which is a great news for gassers. I'd probably order 4 Power HD 1501.

For the throttle. I'd use this servo as I have 8 of these brand new.

Thanks for the update. I think I do not have to fear much about these servos, and these servos have plenty of power.

BTW Where did you get these servos from, Ernie quoted to buy from Value hobby they seem to have good price as well as not much shipping charges.

Thanks

Mody

Dale, Mpizpilot, Lifer,

I take your words on that. I truly appreciate that and since I have to start putting my plane together hopefully at the end of this week, I'm gonna order these servos.

Thanks a lot and I also have to crank up my XYZ 20 motor and wanna feel the power of it

I was talking about these servos

http://www.hobbypartz.com/kahaoubrmo14.html

SG-5010. I have 8 of these brand new and I think I paid $5 each. They do not have metal gears, but they are double bearing. Would I be able to use them in my MXS-R? Or I shouldn't count on these servos? They've got pretty good size of torque on 'em.

These are T-Pro's servos.

I know it may sound silly for me to say, especially when I'm recommending $12 servos, but I'd be hesitant about putting $5 plastic geared servos in that plane.

Mpizpilot,

That's the reason I have not put those servos on my gas planes. Power HD 1501 no doubt great priced and good servos, plus they are metal geared. Since I'm not in a rush, and my plane is coming along good, I'd be ordering those Power HD. Nobody has a problem with those servos, so I'd get these servos, its good not to take risk on almost $300 ARF.

Thanks

Mody

Mpizpilot,

Thank you very much for referring to the Power HD servos to me. They are not way to overkill for my plane, but they are pretty much more than required. I have just ordered 4 servos for the plane. Two for aileron, rudder and elevator.

Ernie,

Thank you for referring me to Value hobby, I truly appreciate that and prices are way better. Shipping is just $3.99 which I think would get to me hopefully by the end of this week. I got few updates on my DLE20 which I'm gonna post it on DLE's thread.

I have not been able to crank up my XYZ 20cc probably I'd be able to crank it up once it's mounted and my plane is ready. I'd hopefully be able to post some videos.

Thanks

Mody

I bought power hd 1501 and had centering problems could not use them on elevator or rudder as plane never flew horizontal. So replaced them.
Got bitten this time looking for the bargain. Will use them in airbrake brake aplication, or flaps where centering is not critical.

The xyz 20 seems like a nice low price motor. Have a pattern plane missing a motor (focus sport) and don't want to go the glow fuel alternative. To expensive for the size of plane.

Mody what hapenned with your other project you where building?

cheers juan

Hello Juan

I frigging hate rcuniverse when you leave it for a while you typed the whole message then it shows you the error if you did not already copy that crap outta it, I hate this[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] I have to rewrite it all. Anyway long time no see how are you doing? Sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience of you with Power HD servos. On this thread I read some good things about those servos that's why I ordered them and I heard good things about these. Price is pretty affordable and at the moment due to financial issue I can't afford $30+ servos and I'm also having a little bit job crisis though I'm permanent employee of an outsourcing company whose projects are going on across the globe and lots of in US and I've been off the HP's project for a while and trying my utmost to get back on the project. My wife has been hospitalized for the last 3 days as she has heart issues and Thank GOD nothing's wrong with her heart. Hopefully she would be released today or tomorrow after all the tests are done.

My MXS-R with XYZ 20's project is on the back burner as the servos are on their way to me. On the other hand, I have to repair my YAK 54 with DLE20 on board and I have to tweak it good and I'm sure this time I'm gonna do it right. I have seen the videos on youtube and I'm sure I'd fix the idle problem with that.

Juan, thank you for referring me to epbuddy.com I have ordered another life battery from them and I bought from ebay teneary 2000 mah NIMH battery pack for ignition. I have Hitec Aurora 9 radio and optima 7 RX. Somehow whenever I plug the life battery to that receiver it works fine as soon as I switch it to nimh the radio goes off crazy and it beeps continuously until I turn the radio off. Since the receiver was using the LIFE battery in the past that's why it's not taking NIMH at all, or could be some other reason I don't know? Do you know anything about it?

As soon as the plane is ready, I'd post some pix here

Thanks

Mody

Armody:

You need to configure your rx battery voltage at transmitter, since Tx does not know wihic tipe of battery you have on rx. If using 4 cells nicd or Nimh set the low voltage to 4.5 Volts and 5 cell to 5.6 volts. This will stop the alarm.

Have been playing with EDF lately.

Hoper your wife is better and cheers,

Juan

How are all the XYZ 20cc's doing by now? I see Valley View has their own brand of 20cc now. They look like the XYZ but might have some refinements.
