I was just looking at the high temp silicone tubing at McMaster Carr the other day. They have a great selection of that and cheaper than what Mac's Products sells by a long shot. Perhaps they have the teflon stuff too.

Well it is here. My NGH came in a box all covered in a few layers of paper and tape. the box was not damaged. Too bad I can't say the same thing about the motor. The fins on both sides of the motor are scratched up pretty good, and one fin on top is broken. The fin under the broken one is bent down almost to the next fin. And the case just below the push rods have 2 nicks in it. Other than that, it looks good. All of the dings and marks will not efect the way it runs. But I kind of like to put the first dents in a new motor myself. The Saito 2.20 muffler is not a bolt on to this motor. But I will see if I can come up with something.

true, but it just effects the look, so perhaps they can give me a few dollars off my next purchase. Or something like that.

Let Michaelchow know about it, so in the future they can package them a little better.
My engine had bent fins also and some nicks on it like it was clamped in a vise or something. I just straightened the fins and all is good.

Dont forget,delivery didnt  come from Michael.Directly distributor s fault.(Or transportation from China then distributor should have a deal with customer,imho).

I don't think it was the AMR people, that's where I bought it. The fins that are broken are not in the factory sealed bag. I think it was a problem that happened at the factory or during the test run. But of course I have no facts to back this up. And again, I don't see the dents as being a problem, its just something that should be looked at for the next batch of motors. The people at AMR www.amr-rc.com have been great so far. My e-mails have been answered fast and with no B.S. I will be ordering more items from them in the future.

I decided to just keep the motor, as nothing stays new for long. I went out and tried to start it today. It is about 12 above so I thought I might have some trouble. I had to put the electric starter on it to get it to prime (choke) the first time, but that is not a big deal. I have had many four strokes that I needed to prime this way the first time. It coughed once, open the choke and hit it with the starter. It fired right up. Then sat there running as if it were a well broken in motor. I did not do much with it, just sort of let it run, with a very minimal amount of throtle play. But it seems to do just whatever is asked of it. I did not go over 3000rpm, but I would have to say I am very happy so far. As to it being loud.....yep it is. I will try to get my four stroke muffler attached and see if that helps. But I think it is no louder than my FUJI 50 was. And it has that nice 4 stroke thump to it. I think I am going to like this motor. Just my thoughts.

Jeff tks. for impressions.I want to mention that this is a ringed engine and doesnt like to run at fixed speed for break in.You should play with throttle frequently and give it quite a load and cooling periods frequently.

thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind during the break in. but its so cold here ( +1 degree ) I think I will wait to do more testing. I think the motor would be fine, but my feet get cold.[]

From what I understand, breaking in gas engines should be done while flying. They overheat without the air cooling them. Unlike glow fuel which acts like a coolant flowing through the engine. With gas set slightly rich and go fly.

The break in insturctions say to run it at 3000 rpm drunig break in for 30 minutes. So thats where I will start.

I can say, that fixed 3000 RPM run (after full warming up) is the worst thing to do to that fine engine.Ringed engines needs to load and cooling (by pulling throttle to idling) afterwards frequently even on your car engines to break in.

actually, It won't take long time at all for break-in, because it use high precision sleeve, just do like this it is ok, start it and adjust let it run with HS and Idle, and let engine is running Then go to a drink, break-in is over. after several flights, HS is more higher for about 200rpm. it is all.

Anyone figured out ho to install a muffler ?
Where can we get a header made so it could fit a saito 220/FG36 muffler ?

I was thinking of welding a 15x1mm threaded pipe to a steel flange to bolt onto the engine.
Then just screw the saito muffler onto this with a locknut.

Does anyone know if the black threaded manifolds from saito are made of steel or aluminium ?

They are steel and I once repaired one on a Saito 82 by mig welding it. You have to be careful as they are thin, but it can be done.

The only thing I can think of, is that we would need to make a new flange, and thread the inside of the flange, to fit the threaded OS 200 engine exhaust and muffler parts.

The problem with the OS 200 is that it uses 16mm pipe/thread.
I dont think there is enough space between the flange bolts for a 16 mm pipe.
15mm pipe will only just fit.
