DLE 55 weirdness...

RE: DLE 55 weirdness...
If the carb is your problem or fuel draw , the engine should run on a prime for a short time and shut off
Just feels like an ignition problem , from the info here

RE: DLE 55 weirdness...
I'm using genuine NGK CM6 spark plugs in it, and only use filtered 93 octane gas from brand-name gas stations at a 30:1 mix with synthetic blend low-ash 2-stroke oil I have clunk filters (screen-type) in both my filler can as well as my tank, and have a an inline fuel filter between the tank and the carb (I mention this just so everyone

RE: DLE 55 weirdness...
I can't wait till he works on it so I can be the winner here!!! Just clean the needle and seat and its fixed and we can give me my cookies, peanut butter is best. You just need to break it in on what ever oil you want to run in it. The rule of not breaking it in on synthetic only applies to engines with a CAMSHAFT... You guys need to get with the 21st century. There is only 1 thing to let break in on a 2 stroke and that is the ring. 2 heat cycles or so and presto your done but hay do what you want don't take my 25 yrs of building engines tell you what to do!!!!!!
Don't even try to start a pi$$ing match cause I know what I'm doing.

Sorry - what's the point? I already said I was using a synthetic blend...

RE: DLE 55 weirdness...
As mentioned before, I chased a similar problem with my DLE 55 that was doing exactly the same thing as yours. Both times, it turned out to be the ignition. If your ignition is weak, it will mis fire or not fire at all under running conditions, even though you will see a spark with the plug out of the engine. The ignition tester was the only way I found a faulty primary wire, which was causing the problem. If you can borrow a working carb from someone, try that. I was able to do that, and eliminate the carb problem.

My first steps this weekend (if the issue presents again, that is - it's tough to troubleshoot an issue that doesn't currently exist) will be to immediately defuel and refuel the plane to see if it corrects the problem.

No wonder T.O.M. quit posting here a long time ago.

After all, why would I want to isolate actions that have been taken in the past and resulted in the disappearance of the issue? It's almost as if I'm trying to understand what caused the engine to spontaneously run again.
A person that is so quick to discount such fundamental troubleshooting steps is a person that I'm not looking to take advice from anyway.
Thanks for your valuable input. Have a great day!

I'll ask again, have you tried this?
Or use your ignition from your dle 30 it will work on the 55 just as well.

Or do you rather sit in front of your computer screen and discuss things instead of getting things done?

Yeah - thanks for that. Actually, the issue turned out to be debris in the needle seats. Carb cleaner took care of it.
I stopped updating this thread because of so many self-righteous replies from internet experts who got off on feeling superior and insisted on stomping their feet and throwing tantrums whenever anyone didn't immediately jump to their feet and do as they said without question.
"Some folks were born to fly electrics"?
Actually, some folks just realized how stupid of an idea it was to think they should expect help from posting a question here...

Sorry Bumfer, when 100% quality guys like Pe Reivers checks out of a thread that should tell you something. If the OP had listened to Pe in post #13 his problem would have been fixed and saved the next 143 posts that were not needed, and seem to add to only " many self-righteous replies from internet experts who got off on feeling superior and insisted on stomping their feet and throwing tantrums whenever anyone didn't immediately jump to their feet and do as they said without question.." Certainly before your post #32.
Sorry but I stand behind my original statement which did have a smiley face so here is another.
