OS GT33 gas - prop adapter
Need some help.
Bought a new OS GT33 engine and discovered that the prop shaft is 8mm dia.
All the common gas props these days like Xoar. Mejzlik, PT CF, and the rest all have a 10mm shaft hole - leaving a difference of 2mm.
Does anyone know where I can find a bushing to fit inside the prop to make up the difference?
Not sure if the APC plastic bushings that come with props will work but I would prefer a metal one.
Any ideas or help? Seems like quite an oversight by OS.
Thanks!
Ken

Ken,
Here’s another way to do it. 8mm is .315 inches. 5/16 is .3125 inches. Zinger props come with a .25 inch center hole. Get a 5/16 inch counter bore with a quarter inch pilot and open up the Zinger center hole to .3125. If it’s a tight fit , you can run an O drill , .316 inches, through it to open it up some more. I did this with an 8mm prop shaft motor with no problem. Dan.

First off why anyone would bother with anything other than APC props on this engine is beyond me. Most thrust for the least noise...A really good size for the muffled engine is the 18.5 X 9.5 wide blade, or 19x10 standard blade
BUT if one must use something else, tape works super around the shaft. I've used electrical tape when I had to use a different prop with large shaft holefor testing.

Interesting, I personally wouldn't use tape but Matt has a lot of experience so I'll trust his opinion.
I had one made by Unique Aircraft, you can email him at [email protected] and ask for the prop adapter he made me.
Edit: Personally I prefer wood over those glass filed steak knives!
