What oil do you use in your Gas Satio 4 Strokes
I don't want to start a big oil thread but I have read some gas satio users are haveing issues with sticking valves
Im converting an ASP 1.80 4c to gas for a big twin proprojection currently have 8 DLE motors that I use Shill Utra HP oil at 32-1
As I have never used a 4 stroke gas motors I just want to see what actual users like.
Thanks Mike

In my oil burn tests, the Stihl HPultra burnt the cleanest of all oils tested without lacker building, and only small traces of carbon.

pe reivers say its good, I good to go
Thanks guys. Im putting these 2 ASP 1.80 4c converted to gas in a ESM 25 and I don't want to lose it due to a valve sticking.
If my skin did not break out when I got nitro fuel on it I would leave them the way they came.
Thanks Again.

G'day Mike
I'm running a Saito FG 21, & I use and recommend Morgans Coolpower Blue Synthetic oil. Yes Coolpower Blue, it is not just for 2 or 4 stroke glow engines.
Remember, oils that are used in motorcycles, or chainsaws, are designed to burn, they have a lower flash point,
we require the oil to lubricate, not burn, that is how the valves stick if the wrong type of oil is used, the oil burns away,
& does not lubricate anything. Coolpower has a high flashpoint, so it remains in the engine & does it's job, of lubricating.
Another good oil is Klotz R50, & Petromax oil, all these oils have a flashpoint around the 200Deg C mark, if the engine runs at that temperature, you have melted your piston.
I know I will get lots of people commenting on my statements here, but it is all true, & I don't have sticky valve problems.
Cheers

beware: Not all oils for glow fuel will mix with gasoline.
Also, not all gasoline two stroke oils burn all that well. Do the test yourself.
take a teaspoon, put it in a vice
add 5 drops of test oil
heat the spoon, and light the oil
Let it burn all off completely.
You will be surprised of the flame color, flame smoke, and what happens exactly in that very last burning second!
Do the tests, then report back.

G'day Mate,
We don't want the oil to burn, that is the point, if it burns it does not lubricate.
All the oils I mentioned DO mix well with gasoline.
And they don't burn, at the temps that our engines generate.

Not exactly on topic, but if you like Stihl Ultra and can´t find it, then Castrol XTS is the same oil.

Amsoil Saber 100:1 mixed 20:1 .......no sticky valve issues. Guess my question is why are you spending the money on junk ASP Engines to convert to gas? They aren't a good glow engine, they surely won't be a good gas engine.....IMHO>>>>

I use the recommended blue Evo Synthetic. I figure for what I pay for these engines, I am going to use what Saito recommends. I am running an FG-14b and the FG-17 and soon the FG-21.

Allow me to disagree with you. The oil in the gas flow (aerosol) does not lubricate, and should burn off cleanly, lest it be cause of carbon deposits and exhaust blocking.

G'day Mate,
I suppose we will have to agree to disagree, in a model size petrol 4 stroke, without a wet sump for lubrication, the oil in the fuel, does all the lubricating.
If it does not, why is it in the fuel to begin with.
I will still use my Coolpower blue oil, & be happy.
To each his own.
Have a great weekend.

It seems you do not read what I say. Whichever, same nice weak end to you.

Yeah I read what you wrote. There must be some blow by, to allow for lubrication, do you agree with that statement.
If so, we are friends again, not that we were ever anything else.
Cheers, & good flying.
