Man, the bragging rights are worth a lot too! Being able to say "I hand built the entire engine from metal stock". Yeah! I can just imagine the thrill when the engine starts for the first time!!

Yes you are correct the first fire up on a home built engine is the best but so are all the rest of them as well *L* Reliable with maybe more power than any factory engine in the same size is nice also.

Captin, I think Zagnut was actually paying the OP a compliment.

Irony with a bit of sarcasm.

Just absolutely amazing. So very cool!!

Only one comment/suggestion. It doesn't appear that the prop collar that holds the magnet is keyed to the crankshaft. You might consider doing so, as sometimes a prop hub like that can slip and throw off your ignition timing.

Wow!

Thanks everyone for the comments

@ AV8TOR , I have taken that into consideration but I was concerned that the crankshaft would weaken at this point , but the prophub sits firmly on the crank , at disassembly I have to use a pulley puller ,( I don't know if this is the right word)

Wow, it looks much bigger in the video than 13cc. That makes your work even more incredible though, due to the small size of the parts.

You mean why make an engine and loose you plane when it quits on you when you can save work ?
I think it's best to start with a utility engine and improve it. Even redesign things like a lighter crank case.

Well I don't think that assessment is a fact, Myself and several others have been flying home built engine's for years and so far I have never had one quit on me and certainly have never lost a plane due to an engine failure.

Well, I do a lot of work converting "utility" engines, and it is fun and rewarding. But the expertise that went into this engine the OP made is just great. It's not made to "set the world on fire" with a special new engine, it is an exercise in machining skill and accomplishment.

The closest I came to that is when I ran my Giant Stik out of gas. I thought I had the field made, but didn't quite make it over the power lines. It hit, and nose dived into the ground, destroying the fuselage clear back to the wing. But I love that plane so I re-built it and you can't tell it ever crashed. It has some grooves in the landing gear from where it hit the wires. I left them there as "battle scars"...

Ditto to the last two sentences in the above.

I still had to make the exhaust , finally this is done .
On the picture you see at the bottem the "flat pattern" , right the "folding mold" , middle the "folded part" and on the left the "flange"
