Received my 3W 50 cc back from repairs and it actually makes a loud sound and, get this.....it continues to run! But I do have a question or two for you engine experts....by leaning out the high end, I get 6850 RPM swinging a 22/8 wood prop - is that too much, not enough or just about right concerning RPM's?

Second question has to do with the idle - at idle there is gas dripping out from the carb, I've leaned that out also, but it still is dripping - comments?

Tune it right. Then If at idle gas is dripping, the carb must be hung or sloping downwards, and you probably can't do much about it, except for mounting an air filter.
If the carb keeps dripping fuel when the engine is stopped, the carb needs a checkup.

Thanks Pe and yes the plane in on a taildragger so the carb is probably a bit downward. Do you think the high RPM's are about right?

You are asking me about a competition engine?
22x8 is a 40cc prop. On a 50cc less than 7000 is lowish.
