Hey TB,
Looks good, thanks for the info on the Keleo pitts muffler.
Is that an Aeroworks 50cc Cub that you have the GF40 mounted in?
I plan on mounting this engine in my Aeroworks Stearman 77" and am hoping that at 18lbs it should
have enough grunt to fly it well.
thx
Dave

which turbo header did you get?
I got one for the Saito 36 and the right knuckle, but I found it still a bit harsh, so I got hold of the O.S. 80D knuckle for the OS fs200, and was then able to use the supplied OS. GF 40 muffler, and fit it in the cowl, AND it sounds really sweet.

Any my chance that you could take a pic of your setup?
I'm about to pull the trigger on getting a GF40 and would like to order the
OS 80D knuckle at the same time it it looks like it will work for my application.
thx

Dave,
Here's the setup with the OS 80D knuckle.
As I said, I used one of the turbo mufflers originally, found it quite a harsh and unfriendly noise. (I have 2 of them for sale if any one is interested, one used, the other still in it's packaging).
The Original OS muffler and knuckle work a treat, and sound great.
Regards, Bruce

I just picked up the Saito FG-21, but haven't run it yet. It didn't have stellar reviews, but I think the FG-21 fixed the problems they had with the FG-20.
I looked at the OS, but it was too big for my application. I've always been a fan of OS for their quality and reliability. I look forward to hearing more about this engine.

A little off-topic: Anyone compared the O.S. GF40 against the O.S. FS200S-P in regard of prop - rpm data?
For those who fly the GF40, does it readily pick up some rpm if you start diving the plane? There seems to be some kind of resistance against doing so with the FS200S-P.

Hey Guys. I am selling the second new in the box OS engine I had slated for my B-25. I am not doing that anymore so I don't need the engine. It is new and never been run. It will come with the used stock muffler from my first engine that is now on my cub. It will also come with a 90 degree knuckle for aftermarket muffler use. $600 and it is yours.

Hahahahaha.....
Well, they do have their place. Believe it or not I am looking into the YS200; when it becomes available I just have to get one of them. It will cost a grand but what the heck. Turning a 23" prop with a 12-14" pitch at 6K rpm, will be near perfect for what I do

You must have inside infomation, or guessing that after the YS180 is released, 2-3 years from now, they will get to the ys200. lol...
I Think YS is going to have to change the size of there case so that it will support larger and or more bearings to address an issue that I think some may already know about..
I saw that O.S discontinued there 2.00 4-stroke... apparently they believe the fs1.55 is the replacement??
anyhow.... right now is the time to pick up O.S 4 stroke gas... rebate and other disconts make it a good price IMHO...

LOL.... I get it now..... but that isn't the way a human heart is really shaped!....lol....
On the other hand....Is it me or does the box/paper and bad coloring job (that the O.S. is shipped the Motor in)
look like the same kind of China box material that the DLE's are shipped in??
I remeber my o.s. engines, in boxes that were a better quality colored box (just like my YS 1.60 came in) where the coloring goes around the entire box
and it thick-n-sturdy.
Not complaining but just saing.... I am sure it all adds up.... (cost to manufacture and sell engines) that is...

I had the oportunity to pick up a moki/rcs 50cc singe gas 4-stroke for the same price as a new O.S. but it seems that the carb on those do not pump like a walbro carb??
Perhaps I have the wrong info....

OS replied they didn't see it yet from the other owners.
Believe me I handle this engine with love :-) and I know how to handle these 4-stoke gas engines.
I have good expertise on SAITO 14/21/30/36 4-stroke gas engines and this issue with OS engine quite surprised me.

If no one else is have ing a issue, it is possible that one slipped throught the process line...
I don't know if there is a way to test metal to get a reading (if metal was tempered properly) but if I was a engine manufacture, I
would want to know right away if there were ANY ENGINES that experience something like this....
I would be upset if someone didn't bring that to my attention....
I am not any expert on engines so I shouldn't speculate...
It would be interesting to pick up one of these engines and do a TOTURE test and see how it makes out..!

This engine is even more beautifull inside than outside .The only thing that I dont like is the walbro carb actually ,I know I surprize everybody by saying this ,it idles perfect at 1500or less all day but the midrange is horrible and weights 100gr quite alot for a carb.Anybody has any idea how to fix the midrange? tryed all kinds of needle combo setups but it's still bad.Maybe walbros work better on 2 strokers for some reason ?
