My preference is Cool power synthic, Stihl and Echo are excellent also. Best all around mix is 32 to 1. Some will say 50 to 1 and other brands.

Thx for the feedback. I continue to find information on the oil ratio to be confusing. The latest FAQ from the Revolution/Brison web site recommends 80:1 for synthetic oils. Based on recent recommendations from Desert Aircraft Technical staff, I've switched to Redline two-stroke racing oil (synthetic) at a 40:1 ratio for my DA engines. I've just started using my Brison 3.2 engine after several years on the shelf - it runs great! - and I'm tempted to use Redline at the same ratio (40:1) recommended by DA. Any thoughts? Ben

I don't know what the best oil is as I haven't tried them all . Of the oils that i have tried I feel that Stihl , Stihl ultra and Pennzoil Air cooled are my favorites at this time . I used Amzoil Saber for years but changed to Stihl and noticed that my engines run cooler and are better lubricated.

+1 wouldn't use Amsoil in model airplane engines.

Cool power can be bought direct from Morgan in gallon which makes it about the best buy and protection for the money. http://morganfuel.com/

Why would you want to use a nitro fuel in a gas engine? I do not think the carb is set up for that.

Cool power oil from Morgans. It's very clean burning and offers excellent protect. You can buy the oil separate.
I also buy the Omega oil for the nitro engines.

Call them. I just ordered a case of Cool power oil and a case of Omega oil. I think it's around 180.00 a case. Horizon also sales the oil but only in quarts.

Have any of you Brison owners worked on your engines? What configuration are your crankshaft bearings? Open? Shielded? Sealed? Dan.

The outer bearing is sealed on one side only(seal goes toward the prop) ,inner bearing is open. I don't remember the bearing numbers.

Thanks for the input CK. Is there any reason to use a sealed or shielded bearing for the rear one? They are supposed to be lubricated for their life time and not dependent on any external oil such as that mixed in the fuel. Dan.

The concern that I would have with a fully sealed bearing on the rear bearing would be is the seal resistant to fuel/oil/etc.. If the seal breaks down the lube will escape but the lube in the fuel may not readily penetrate the seal enough to provide sufficient lube to the bearing.
