Will be interesting to see if that price will hold. Seems too low for all that technology.
I have learned to not buy the latest and greatest until it has time on the market to eliminate the unforseen issues. I hate being the Guinea Pig.

I think its pretty dang cool. However, I too will let someone else work out the bugs. Dirt bikes have been slow to adopt FI, it has taken a few years to get the bugs out, and to convince people it is better. After several years, many racers are still using carbs.
I would more willing to try it in my models because I like to tinker, and a failure isn't going to leave me stranded 100 miles from no where.

Where is the pump? Where is the ECU? What about the engine itself? Not made by MVVS so is this just a new Chinese produced engine like most of the newer Horizon / Evolution offerings. Not really being critical here but I'm certainly curious for some of the answers. One thing I can guarantee, I won't be one of the early adopters / Beta testers.

Looks like Evolution is branching away from MVVS line...
I am guessing that the reason the price is low is because it is made in China with Tiwan injecters.....
As far as motorcoss racers using carbs? All of the 5-major manufactures use EFI...and will not be going back to Jets....
I am not sure about the 2-stroke KTMs that are still made, I am guessing they used carbs to keep the simplistic view....
That is the entire concept of buying a 2stroke now days (the ones that are being MADE yet)

KC66 was riding a non-injected bike in Baja this year, as he did for his H&H bike which dominated. I give it 2 more years, and there will be more FI than carbs, but not right now.
Based on that trend, I give it 5 more years before we have reliable FI.
Motocross? I don't get motocross.

1. O2 sensors dont work with oil in the fuel - they would last about 20 minutes so we don't have one.
2. Manufactured at a dedicated Evolution engine factory in China to a US design from our Evolution design team.
3. The Throttle Body Electronic Fuelnjection carb is US made with some overseas components.
4. It utilizes a single 2S LiPo to power the EFI and the Ignitions sytem which are wired together.
5. The electronics package os mounted riht on the throttle body and includes inlet air sensors, throttle position senssors, case temperature sensors and rpm sensors.
6. It works by using an algorithm that takes the rpm and throttle position to descide on the fuel needed.
7. The EFI automatically senses load changes and compensates for different props and exhaust systems.
8. Built in automatically controlled choke so the start is to simply flip the prop (4-6 times) and the engine starts and continues to run properly. The extra fuel for the choke will automatically stop after 10-30 seconds depending upon the starting temperature of the engine.
9. The engine mounts, prop mount and exhaust mounts match that of a DA60 so you can utilize already purchased components.
10. prop range for the engine is 22 x 10 through 24 x 10. The best prop we have tested so far has been a Falcon Carbon 23 x 9.

Wasn't the ME-109 fuel injected? And didn't it do so without O2 sensors and electronic controls?
Kudos to Horizon for having the initiative to come up with such a design. Given the number of threads on all the forums dealing with engine operation, eliminating tuning should be a popular step for many modelers.

There is a world of difference between mechanical Fuel Injection like the ME 109 had and Electronic Fuel Injection.
Mechanical injection does not have the need of an O2 sensor, Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, Throttle position Sensor, Electronic Control Unit and so on.
While Mechanical is just that it utilizes a high pressure pump and injectors set to pop at a certain time and pressure
Granted the electronic is far more fuel efficient but we all got by with the Mechanical for years and years.
Anyway back to the engine at hand here, W/O and O2 sensor or ECU I can't see how it can operate properly. The early Holley Projection unit's didn't have an O2 sensor and the ECU got lost constantly it was a Major PITA to deal with.
I'll let someone else try this out for now and see how well it does work, Besides I like to tune my engine's myself anyway.

I think that this is really great. I like it. It will defintely be interesting to see these out in the field soon. I am quite impressed with what Evolution has done here.
