Which Walbro Carb kit for a DLE-20 carb?
Which one of these walbro rebuild kits works on the DLE-20 carb. I have a K20-WAT or a K10-WAT. I have been on the Walbro web page and I was told when I bought the engine that the carb was a wt clone. I see only these two kits on the Walbro web page for any WT type carb. Does anyone know which on it is?

All the WTs use the K20-WAT or the D10-WAT. The K20 is for a more complete overhaul. You'll have to get an input from one of the more knowledgeable posters to find out if the WT size carburetor, which is used in the 40 to 50cc range, is the correct one for a 20cc engine. I doubt it. Dan.

I would think that as small as the DLE 20 carb is, that it would use the D10-WAT kit, The D20-WAT kit has a few options in the way the pump diaphragms are set up?
IIRC the K20-WAT kit has a longer needle in it was well as the pump diaphragm assortment? The K10-WAT kit has a short needle.
The "D" kits are just the metering valve and pump diaphragms. The "K" kits have the metering valve needle, some Welch plugs etc.
If you have the two different kits, put them (still in the package) on the table beside where you take the DLE-20 carb apart and compare the diaphragms?
In these kits, the pump diaphragms are sometimes clear or blue Mylar or a tan woven Kevlar instead of being rubber. It doesn't matter too much?

The typical problem with the diaphragms is that the little check valve tabs for the rubber pump diaphragm will curl up off their seats and the pump will not work.
With the old metering valve diaphragms, they will get stiff and no longer regulate smoothly.
With the pump side, there is a gasket that fits against the carb body.
With the metering valve side, the diaphragm fits against the carb body and the gasket goes against the steel cover

Thanks for all of your help here. It looks like I want to get a D10-WAT diaphram kit for the DLE-20 carb. I will pick one up today and try it. Just in-case has anyone out there replaced the DLE-20 carb with a Walbro carb and if so which one is best suited for this engine. Thanks

My question would be .... what is wrong with the original carb? Have you had problems with it? Most of the Walbro clones used on the DLE engines are very good.

Truckracer,
I have had this DLE-20 for 3 years now and it has been a good running engine. Late last summer it would not let me run up the throttle without dieing on me. It seem it starting running real lean for some reason. I had opened up the high end and it still dies. I have checked the fuel lines and fuel tank and it still dies when I open up the throttle. It has a good idle and will idle all day long. It just will not go to top end without it dieing. That is why I was wanting to replace the diaphram on the engine.

Sounds interesting, I have had mine the same time and runs like a top. Only reg gas 10% alcohol and 32:1 oil mix. Sounds like a needle issue to me too. I have a weed wacker for 25 yrs. now and not even a plug change. I keep expecting it to give up the ghost any day but nope every spring ynnnnngg and I'm off.
