Default DLE 20cc engine prop shaft center hole diameter

The DLE 20cc engine has a prop shaft center hole. Does anyone know the thread size of this hole?

Take it to the hardware store and find a bolt that fits.

I think maybe he is referring to the spinner bolt hole......"Truckracer", can you verify 5mm?

First, sorry, I misread the original question and in haste, just stated the prop shaft size.

Regarding the center drilled hole, I don't think the 20 is drilled for a spinner bolt. If it is, it couldn't be the standard 5mm size that is so common as it would weaken the crankshaft too much. There just isn't enough meat in an 8mm shaft to accomodate a 5mm drilled and tapped hole. If a hole is present, I would guess 4mm. From there I'll bow out to someone who knows for sure but would guess any hole if present is just for centering purposes during machining.

I'm pretty sure that the center hole will be tapped. You can carefully place a 4-40 bolt in the hole, and test for the grooves.

If it has them, it's just a matter of finding the right thread size. That's why I suggested going to the hardware store. They have numerous sizes, in varying lengths, that can easily be tested on the engine.

My local Ace Hardware always seems interested in my projects, and is always asks if they can lend a hand.

In fact, I have an engine that needs a spinner bolt, too. I plan on taking it to Ace soon.

yep hole only. if you need to mount a spinner then you will need to purchase the adapter from TruTurn for the 8x1.0mm thread. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0&I=LXKE13&P=K
