Question DLE60 twin-leaning?

I don't see any "chatter" out there on the DLE60 twin, so I'll start with the hope of getting ideas on the only issue I'm having with this engine (have 2 running). Overall I'm very pleased, great transition, reliable (so far), plenty power for 50-cc planes. The RPM's really drop when doing inverted harriers, I keep the idle up high when flying to prevent a deadstick, then use throt-throt mix to land. My guess is the engine is leaning, I turned the L needle out a bit to see if that helps, but it didn't help and the mixture got too rich, sluggish transition after that. I use a fuels filter between engine & tank, a large Kholer gas filter (high flow rate), have used this same filetr on all my DA 50 & 100 without any issues. FYI, spinning Vess 23XC at 7,000R's. (the idle doesn't drop when upright harriers)
