Finally..pics of new RCGF 10cc gasser
I'm not sure if I have successfully attached the pics, but I finally got some of the new RCGF 10cc. I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about this new engine as IMO it's bigger news than the DLE 20cc engine. It looks like they've engineered a sort of 7/8 scale walbro carb. I would also bet it has a ringed piston but who knows yet. Glad I didn't buy that evolution 10cc as this looks like the real deal.

I was thinking the same thing. As RCGF seems to have it's sh** together I suspect that either it is a pre-production issue that will be fixed when it's finally ready and/or the carb is supposed to be rotated 180°. Either way I can't see them making such an obvious mistake and then letting it go to production like that. . We'll see.

yes, 10cc = .60~.61. A 15cc would be more practical as yes, the battery/ignition weigh the same whether the engine is 10cc, 100cc, or 0.01cc.. Therefore, while there's no absolute limit on how small these gasers can get, at some point the battery-ignition pack weight becomes an issue. Until we see some breakthrough in batter and/or ignition pack technology I think this size about the practical limit as to how small these engines can get and still be functional in an rc airplane.

An RCGF distributor indicated to me that the engines wouldn't be ready until around August ...so if you live in the midwest it's probably out of the picture for this flying season. If anyone has ANY other info regarding this sucker, PLEASE post. I'm stoked about this engine

It certainly is a fascinating engine design. Did they copy it from someone or come up with it on their own? It sort of has a Fox .60 engine look to it even though the cylinder head casting is different.
I do hope they have a decent carburetor on the engine and if it doesn't use Walbro or Zama or Tillitson parts that they have plenty of the diaphragms and such available for it. For various reasons our USA gasoline is hard on the rubber like parts.
I do not see a problem using a special extra hot glow plug in a gas engine. I am doing it already with a NV-Engines GX40 and it isn't a problem.

That is awesome! i have a .40 size trainer that will be perfect for that engine. Converted it to electric to get away from glow but a gasser would be even better!

PS: how's your gx40 doing? I had one that I sold...it was hit or miss, sometimes it ran great, other times I had to fiddle and fiddle with it. What finally made me sell it was the fact that the plane was getting just as dirty as my glow powered models
